Lots of spells are very useful even for a fighter-type. Curse and Slow come to mind as two of the cheapest but most powerful spells out there for totally boning a single target. Try casting slow on somebody when you have multiple water shards, it's not pretty what happens to the poor beastie, and that would work with just Apprentice-I Water magic.

I moved my (speed 2) spearmen stack out and autoresolved a battle, killing some misc roaming things near one of my shrines. After the battle I noticed the spearmen's movement was now displaying 1/8. This equip screen was brought up while in combat. I moved the hero forward and attacked the spider for three consecutive rounds, hitting each time. Then I bought up this window and took the screenshot. After that I killed the spider and carried on with my plans for world conquest! - Manii Names

I have never seen a Doom Club until today, but I have one now and was excited to try it out. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to work correctly. It should be augmenting my hero's attack value, but isn't. Screenshot was taken after she solo melee'd this spider until obtaining three consecutive hits.

Found a doom club today for the first time ever. +13 Blunt, +10% Cumulative Dmg with each successful attack. It came from an Albino Rock Spider Lair, which is something else I have almost never seen before. However I think the +10% part is busted, haven't gotten it to fire yet in preliminary testing. They probably shouldn't stack. OR there should be some limit on the penalty, like can't take them below 1/2 or something. Admittedly this is an extreme case here, since the Troll Warrior is pretty slow to begin with, but ...

As far as I can tell, Drain Life is the only DD spell unaffected by the Evoker trait. Intentional? Bonus note - Drain Life cannot crit. I haven't done an exhaustive test, but most other spells CAN crit and Drain cannot. [Edit] Bonus Note #2 - it would be nice if Drain Life displayed how much damage it did. I can figure it out, but only by comparing before and after life totals on the target. - Manii Names

Anticipating the Air Elemental casting Titan's Breath, I moved my sovereign away from the rest of my troops to try and avoid the AoE. It didn't work =) However something very strange happened - I got pushed off the edge of the map. The red line shows where the end of the map lies, and as you can see I was forced beyond it. With the way spells ramp up based on shard type, I am against changing the shards in any way. Even a random change would be bad as folks could just save / load until they get what they want. Recalling heroes works for me, summoning new ones does not. I personally think many of us are too dependent on the 'hero stack'. No heroes nearby/ Build 4 quick and cheap spearmen units, you'll actually do better with them in many cases regardless. - Man

There are a few chains, i think. For example I've never gotten the option to buy Finesse (+3 atk / acc vs targets with less DX) unless I buy Dexterity first. However there are very few such chains, in fact that and Brute (same thing, STR-based) are the only ones I am aware of. That being said, ask questions and we will try to answer =) - Manii Names

Something along the lines of Crossbows might be interesting as well. Considerably higher attack values for punching through armour, but also considerably higher penalties to initiative (-6?). You'd have a strong initial strike, but it takes a long time to reload. Be a good mod for you Seanw3 =) - Manii Names

Food supply is mostly impacted by the base tile and then technological improvements. Ex. Base generates 4 grain, you have an improvement for +1 grain, and then a collection of city improvements for +50 food per grain = 250 food.

In a real city the most I have ever gotten to is 6 materials for extreme production, and I only ever pulled that off once. Started as a 4/4 location by a river, then added a clay pit and blacksmith to hit 6. The clay pit kept trying to attach itself to a different city so I had to build a snake path towards it so it went to the right place =) In my roaming I have seen a 2/5 location (get to 6 w Blacksmith) a few times but it's really rare and I have never actually built
