Frogboy - Just out of curiosity, how much more than those 50 000 sales do you need to turn profitable (Elemental costs excluded, just FE development). I understand that it may be a confidential piece of information, but still, I am curious.

It is a weird multiplication, where if you spell resistance is already negative, adding more negatives makes it a little more positive. haha clear as mud.
It's magic. man. FINALLY! Let's hope the rest of the world will follow. The use was probably so widespread that the police costs for chasing individual, harmless stoners outweighed the profits from reselling the confiscated pot on the black market - and since we have that crisis going - they legalized it. Burgers and cola kill much more people annually than all illegal drugs and terrorists combined.

In fact many weapons were designed to be blunt simply to counter the plate. Heavier plate was never used dismounted for the most part because of it's cumbersome weight. In truth you were much better suited wearing chain. -5 protection from blunt! Mehehe..
That has been said many times, blunt weapons like hammers and maces and flai
More info would be necessary to determine the problem - I assume your monitor's native resolution matches the one you use in the game (since options screen is okay). Check your drivers settings, and try to switch off the postprocessing AA types like MLAA, FXAA, since they can blur 3d rendered text if the game is not specifically designed to use them. Maybe try to run "dxdiag" in your command console, and save the output to a file, and post it here, so that we can know more
I don't like metacritic bombing, one way or another. This forum is biased towards the game (obviously), and if we have to dislike haters ruining a metacritic score by nuking the score, I don't think the opposite is any better.
Exactly. I also don't like the original poster telling people what mark should they give. These manipulations defeat the purpose of such rating systems. I could not rate the game 9 by any means
Just a fleshwound!!!
Just brace yourselves, the next DLC is Aztec invasion - unprecedented silliness for a Pdox title.
Finally got to try the game. Initial impressions were very good with downward slope due to repetetiveness and the bugs. Oh my, the bugs - line of sight all wrong, shooting through walls, etc, simplistic "in cover" system, mind control bugs, bugs, bugs... The camera, expecially when navigating large UFOs is awful-to-horrible. Sometimes you just cant select a particular square you want to go. Gamepad was clearly given more love than the mouse. Textures are washed
On the other hand, historically, different weapon types were never "balanced". Especially during early middle ages, swords were really expensive to manufacture and were typically weapons for noblemen - common troops were armed with spears and shields most often. Later, when heavily armored knights entered the game, specialized weapons appeared (warhammers, flails and morgensterns, polearms of various designs). When firearms made heavy armors obsolete, those specialized weapons disappe
I am surprised that you don't mind that the NPC monsters do not attack the AI, and that the AI autobuilds multiple units and buildings for free, but we all look for different things in games, I guess. Until these cheats/bugs are fixed, the game is not playable for me, why play when your opponent is pulling units and buildings out of thin air?
Okay, strangely enough, I actually finished the game after all those years. As a plus, I must point out level design - especially the Hell period isn't bad. On the minus side - the game is really toooooo long, and repetitive in the end. Combat is extremely stale with all those scripted triggers. The story is really just average, but the minor jokes and references in the emails are nice and fresh from time to time. Strange thing is that the BFG edition is actually dumbed down - dyn
To Novalith - your post, sir, is just a piece of elaborate rationalization and apologetic tirade designed to cover a simple fact - the AI does cheat and it is rightfully called cheating. Can I prove my point? Of course I can. Every game comes with a set of rules (even asymmetric games that pit different forces against each other, like AI wars). These rules should be transparent, unambiguous and clearly understood by all participants prior star
Yeah I have to agree that the AI bonuses aren't handled in a reasonable way even considering the high difficulty settings. I'm curious to know if anyone has won something on Ridiculous or up without using something like Beastlord or completely lucking out from a random event or loot (collars with favorable beast spawns for example). It's one thing to be behind the AI and trying to play catch up, but to have them popping won
I suppose this could be Brad's cruel punishment for savescumming I certainly hope so and this DOESN'T need to be fixed at all. WAD! This will teach those save scummers lol and a perfect balance to keep the AI fairly balanced vs the player.

How about we call the games with lots of depth and choices Rich?
That would be missing the point. For example, chess is undoubtedly a "lean" strategy game, since the rules are few and simple, but the depth and strategic diversity is unparalleled. Therefore, it's both "lean" and "rich". Bagginess IMO refers to the fact that the features are not very well integrated, just like throwing various components into a bag and hop
Trojasmic - does this build still contains the bug you discovered concerning AI not paying for heroes and buildings and rushing several buildings simultaneously?
On Brad's defense, bagginess is not always bad. Dwarf Fortress is the baggiest game I have ever seen, and some count it among the World Wonders.

Good find. It seems the AI is so fiercely competitive it sometimes forgets about the rules.
The monsters are still too tame, because they don't fight each other nor the heroes on the map. That contributes to the sterile, lifeless feeling of the map - just a set of goody/evil huts for the player to pop open, not a living, dynamic world.

After playing for some time, the game has turned to be a disappointment for me. The game design is very obsolete (I am not talking about the graphics which is horrible, but Dwarf Fortress has also horrible presentation), constantly spawned weak mobs like "two deer", or "three rabbits" are rampaging through your settlements, the combat is bad, because since all the defenders get to strike first, always, it's hugely unfair, your "empire" that can produce 5 blokes with pointed sticks every t
I still call the game bland. Call me whatever you wish. The graphics and art are charming, no doubt about that, but the lore is generic and uninspiring. Everything seems like an imitation of stuff seen in other games, Kohan Immortal Sovereigns comes to mind. Flavour texts are nice and well written, even the monsters are interesting. But the overall narrative foundation of the game clearly lacks an inspired touch of a competent writer.
