That can't be. If it's the sum of surrounding tiles than how can a tile surrounded by several 1 essence tiles only have 1 essence itself?
It's not surrounded by 1 essences tiles, it is surround by tiles whose surrounding tiles TOTAL 1 essence.
I've heard this stated a number of times, but it does not seem to actually be the case given the odd spread of tile resources. I think I will take screenshots to show how it doesn't seem possible this is the case.
The problem with this is you don't have any numbers to add up. Those other squares are all totals too. Once you throw rounding in there, it's kind of a crap shoot trying to dig down to original numbers.</
It's not actually what is going on, the score the tile is telling you is the sum of all the adjoining tiles. So when you see a tile that says 4/3/2, it is adding up all the tiles around it to get that number.
Agreed, I'd even go so far as to say it's better than the Civ method. Instead of having to add numbers together a la Civ, all the math is already done for you.
Sometimes i get into a condition where my turn seems to end early. For example, production had stopped on several of my cities and it seemed like each time I added something to the build queue of one of these cities that my turn would end. So I wound up with an invading army crossing several territories and attacking my well defended research conclave without ever actually seeing the army on the way in.
Auto-turn is turned on.
Quoting Lord Xia, reply 2I want sea travel. I would like dynasties. I am glad the snaking is gone, and I prefer injuries to permadeath, as it hurts the ai too much. Like the other features above, simply removing building placement was unnecessary. Strategic city placement was one of the main draw points to WoM in the beginning. Being able to block off a river crossing with a well-positioned city was cool.
I've yet to see a wonder in my cities build orders
FYI, once a Wonder is in someone's build queue it will no longer show up for anyone else.
I'll take some screenshots and post them later on of before/after settling. No defenders.
Just so you know, they are not going to show up on the main strategic map. To see them while not in combat, you'll have to look at the city screen as Tuidjy is showing in post #13 above. Look where he drew in the red arrows and writing.

Thanks for the quick feedback, I'll pay up through stardock and start downloading. It's my bday present to myself. Cheers!
Happy birthday!
As long as you buy directly from Stardock, you can make a physical backup of the download. There is no copy protection on it. edit: lol, I see Heavenfall just beat me to it.
Once someone else STARTS building it, it is unavailable. The only way to make it available still, would be to for the AI player to stop building it (remove from build queue) or that city being conquered before it finishes building.
It is available only through Stardock website or Stardock Central (Stardock's own digital download app).
Very, very nice!!

Or you can be within an AI players land and shop to see whatever they have available, I believe as long as you aren't at war with them. Yeah but then it costs $$$ Why can I not give him a horse if I have like 1000 horses in resources?
I could give you a bunch of silly, made-up reasons, but what it comes down to is game-balancing
I'm not sure if remember this correctly or not, but I thought Brad had talked about needing Intel to release a pure 64 bit version of something or another that would allow FE to get bigger maps. Hell I may be remembering something from way back in E:WoM though, so don't quote me on that!

On that note, what ways are there to increase a city's essence without using my cheese pools?
Working on standard Pariden. Maybe an issue similar to the spellbooks not unlocking? Because that is also working for standard Pariden, but is in the changelog as being fixed.

Not sure if this helps if you are looking for something in report form, but during battle, you can click on any icon along the left of the screen for all the enemies stats, equipment, abilities, etc. You can even select their armies before battle and check out all this stuff, as long they are not hidden by fog of war.
Sweet! When did they add this? Or am I blind?
Think it was the last beta cycle, so maybe the last 3 or 4 builds it has been there, IIRC.
To remove spells, you have to go to your Govern UI, and there is a tab for enchantments. You can dispell them there.
You can also go into the city screen itself and hit the little X on each enchantment to cancel them. (towards top left corner of screen)
If you have logged into your account and it's not there, shoot an email to stardock, think it's either or , they'll help you out. Sometimes accounts are messed up, and they have to give a quick little tweak.
lol, especially me, by 7 seconds!
