It's too bad about that one absolutely ridiculous score on metacritic, a 50. This is a fantastic game and should be averaging in the 86-91 range, IMO.

When this game starts it puts a copy of the xml into the save game, that is why patches rarely break the saves. The saved games work, they just don't get the changes.

You don't need FE registered with Steam for LH to work. LH is a standalone expansion. That is actually the exact setup I have. FE through Stardock alone, and LH through Steam.

I don't think the step from FE to FE:LH was as great as from E:WoM to FE, but having said that, it is still a pretty big step up in gameplay. I think it is well worth the upgrade. (disclaimer: I didn't pay, got it free from pre-ordering E:WoM)

They will both work just fine. LH is a standalone expansion, meaning it doesn't need FE installed at all. You can fire up either one and it will work just fine.

Don't try it diagonally. It now does a area 3 tiles wide, so you need to select a tile at one of the cardinal directions.

Rather than nerfing maul, just give it a max number of hits of say 10. Enough that it may wipe lower level units, but won't attack forever on a decent unit. But 10 is still high enough that it won't nerf maul in a non-prone condition.
Unless I'm completely boxed in, never. This is pretty much the way I play all 4x TBS games. Rarely finish any to the bitter end. The actual win just doesn't mean as much as having fun on the journey.
Passing your previous turn puts you in defensive and gives a bonus to your defense rating.
I'll go see it, probably mid next week, so I don't have to sit in a completely packed theater.

The only thing I don't care for so far is the lack of ZoC during tactical. I hate that you/enemy can walk right past opposition to get to another unit. I wouldn't mind it as say some type of level-up or special feature of certain units, or for flying units either. But it just makes it a bit to easy to go right for the soft center of the tactical formation.
