Here is one of those 'out of memory' errors... crashed the game at 1.34GB and this system has 4gigs of ram with very little running in the background. Link: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/9396252/Out_of_Memory/Elemental0_98-2010-08-09T03-20-04-265.zip Also here is the autosave which hangs while attempting to reload... should be some clues in here: <a href="http://dl.

Here are some charisma ideas: A} Help reduce the cost for items purchased in the shop... each point above 10 earns a 2% discount. Thus someone with 10 charisma has no price change yet someone with 15 charisma earns a 10% discount. B} Could be tied into different quest results... such as an extra skilled champion joining you at the end of a quest instead of only a 25gold reward. C} Could be tied into escaping from a band of bandits by smooth friendly talking.
Well started a new game and for some reason there's a huge long road on the map. I know it's a road because my sovereign and other units move faster when traveling on it. I've never seen this on any other random games so I'm reporting it as a bug, but here's a good example where the developers can claim it's "by design". Here's the save game: Link: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/939625
Or you could read in the Dev Journals that many of these things have been fixed. You assume much and it just makes an ass out of you and me.
nasebee knows what he's talking about... listen up.
I don't like this idea. It changes the spatial structure of the map, making it hard for a human player to evaluate the real distances between places.
The teleporters are not for the random games they are for the map editors. Don't be yelling to kill something when the map makers will want the option to exist. Dammmmm think about what you're saying before you destroy an option for map makers!!
This is just a Hate Topic... NiftyF should provide constructive advice so weak areas can be improved OR go find some other game. Posting a hate topic is a waste of your time.
This is one of several reasons the game is definitely not ready for release. The map editor also needs some serious repairs and improvements.
I've included the saved game and a screenshot which shows my zone of control circling a quest hut. The zone circles the quest hut all by itself no connection with my city... check the screenshot. Since I know this is not "by design" I'm reporting it as a bug. The "by design" quote is a shield the developers love using from the company where I work when they are trying to avoid fixing something. Link: <a href="http://dl.dropbox.com/u/9396252/Gamep
I'm also looking forward to being able to read the forums and read people's strategies so I can do AI stuff and start porting the APIs to Python so others can try their hand at it.
Excellent news! Make sure modders and map makers are able to include a random variable for creation designs. This will help keep the AI opponents as more unpredictable and could allow a single quest to provide mul
Elemental could use Teleporters as a physical independent building outside of towns... some good ideas in this thread. The developers for Heroes_3 and AgeofWonders:ShadowMagic had the AI opponents "easily" using teleporters so I'm sure the Stardock developers can figure it out.
The URL was chaged to the following: http://elementalwarofmagic.wikidot.com/ Since the beta is almost done it was changed to the game's title.
The original post should be updated so newcomers don't have to browse thru the thread.
It should be possible for one out of 8 children to be extremely high with one attribute. It should be possible for one out of 64 children to be extremely high with two attributes.
The shards should reduce the mana cost for the spells or at least allow the spells to be more powerful. Summons would receive a 10% life bonus, direct damage spells would do 20% more damage, etc., etc.,
I agree this would be a nice improvement.
Agreed... the summoned creature would only last for the battle... OR maybe until the turn ends.
So I don't know if I should be a little afraid of what will be on my PC August 24th.
I'm also worried the official release will still be more beta testing. Recently I lost a level of adventure questing so while I had TONZ of adventure research the game reported me as only level_2 and I could not enter any level_3 locations. I feel the game is stable for release when players actually have to 'hunt' for game bugs inste
If the game is really important than help the developers by searching for bugs and reporting them. I have found the easiest way to discover bugs is doing multiples of the same task. For example start a randomly generated map, then after it's created start another then after it's created started another... soon you'll see there's a bug. Another example is start a new game then after the world has been created start another new game and soon you'll receive a crash and memory d
Sovereign has stopped fighting during auto_resolve battles. Use save game below and march the sovereign into any battle and he will do nothing... if he enters battle by himself he will always die even when he knows icebolt and lightning strike. Yes he has plenty of mana essence. Link: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/9396252/Gameplay_Bugs/AutoSave.EleSav
Both the map editor and the tile editor need serious patching, updates, improvements and love.
How would you create such a location which only activates 10% of the time? I would like to create mysterious locations which don't always automatically activate.
Bottom Right of screenshot tells me exactly where one of my opponents is moving. I included the screenshot and the save game file. I think the game would be better released during September.
Game crashed while exiting Link: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/9396252/Game_Crashes/Elemental0_98-2010-08-07T17-38-33-93.zip
Here's a saved game which forever hangs on 'creating world'. Yes I did completely exit elemental and then restarted yet no luck. I waited over 3hours and the game never loaded. There's no memory dump. Here's the save game file: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/9396252/Bad_SavedGames/August_New.EleSav DebugMessage: *********DXDiag info follows.**
There doesn't seem to be any method for editing stuff which has been placed on maps in the editor. Ideally map makers should be able to edit "basic" properties of monsters, buildings, quests, structures, triggers and events without turning towards XML editing. I've played with the editor and if some method exists it's either broken or not easily found.
