Stardock has multiple former game reviewers (including former editors of Gamespot/IGN and Avault). If either one of them had said "This isn't ready to go, we need to delay till February." I would have in a heart beat. It would still have resulted in lay-offs but it would have been preferable to the hellstorm we caught. And I'm not blaming anyone but myself because I thought the game was ready. Not v1.05 but v1.0.
I suspect this is a problem with the map editor, not the quest.
Please report this as a bug... and any other bugs inside the support forum. The cartographers table definitely needs some loving developer attention before us map makers can provide some good game depth/strategy.
Thanks for the link Arkenor

This thread is to cover both the good and the bad within Elemental. Certainly I won't be able to cover everything however I've listed pieces I've recognized during game development. I recall reading Elemental had more developers than any previous games from Stardock by quite a significant number... so where was time lost?? Fixed Battlefields - Currently the game uses fixed battlefields and while
The maximum stack outside a city is 12. I don't know if there is a limit inside a city, but I cornered one of the computer opponents in his last city earlier today, he has 35 units. This results in some bizarre situations, with catapults stacked for instance. Also, given the current state of the game, the AI doesnt appear to actaully have too pay for any of those units. I saw an official response from Stardock where Hotseat was listed as "probably not". :( It's so shocking how Stardock hates programming multiplayer, loves playing multiplayer games.... and yet the ONLY multiplayer option scheduled in the recent future is the most difficult multiplayer design for programming! It's like the Stardock developers are seeking pain. Seriously multiplayer should have started as HOTSEAT and PBEM then once sta
Do we have any Official OR UnOfficial Guides for using the Cartographers Table? Does Stardock plan on providing a guide?

The AI of the 'creeps' is horrible - they usually just stand there and watch me do whatever; they are rarely aggressive and I have yet to see them take a city. I could list out the sins right here: I violated my long-standing tradition of monitoring the forums and playing the game and instead focused on working on the game directly. If I had spent more time on the forums instead of the compiler, I'd have been convinced of having a public Beta 5 and then likely would have just pushed the date

You picked a new talent/upgrade at each level up and it always meant something. AoW:SM had it too but your heroes died easier with the lack of a retreat option if you were attacked. MoM had really cool heroes too with unique abilities.
Agreed.... has anyone else noticed most o
Here's just some of the troubling pieces I've found within the game: A} The quests are so predictable and after 20+ games the predictable quests are boring. As soon as a quest screen appears I know exactly what can be expected. Please fix this Stardock by having each quest with multiple possible outcomes where the gamer has different end results. B} The AI opponents have tunnel vision! As soon as AI units target a destination they ignore anything el
I'd love to see a greater variety of quests. I think this is one area where the community can definitely work together and fill the need for more quests. If Stardock would provide more guidance on creating quests, the community could fill this need and let Stardock focus on the core issues of the game.
Definitely there's a bundle of modding and map creation questions... hopefully Stardock
This is all good stuff
Currently when playing the game every quest I have encountered is predictable. After 10 games you step on a quest hut and know exactly the end result every single time. I'm suggesting the game to be more alive and unpredictable where 3 midnight stones might provide a helm or bracers or wand! It's boring knowing I'm always going to receive a shield. The quest for delivering the nobleman to the estate... perhaps he turns into a werewolf after a couple turns?
I would also like to add that most of the spells have this exact same problem 1DN rolls !! It makes it impossible knowing just how much mana will be used on just an average battle. I really hope Stardock fixes the spells too otherwise next month we'll see this exact same topic with a different title. Any other thoughts?
