I have a personal hatred for the DemiGod game since not only did it delay the Elemental beta planned for June, but it probably damaged considerations for multiplayer options. From what I can tell Elemental was under development before DemiGod, but was pushed aside while DemiGod development took center stage! [e digicons]>:([/e]

So how does someone notify Stardock about the current forum bugs? [e digicons]:maybe:[/e] I've been on these forums for at least 6 months and there's still some serious bugs which remain unresolved. If no official method exists then this topic should be used for listing forum bugs. One serious bug is it's not possible to quote from the original posting of any topic. When this is attempted it will use the following:
&n
I wouldn't mind if a resource is depleted eventually, but, personally, i don't want an iron mine to runout within ten turns of gaining access to it.
Exactly finite resources if done properly only changes the strategic level of the game. I've never even heard of a TBS game where two players were evenly matched with troops, terrain, resources, etc., etc., and then both players ran out of resources evenly matched causing
Elemental is supposed to be extremely mod-able. So for the MoM aficionados out there, we could MoM-mod it!
That depends on how much modding will be available? For example... will we be able to add additional realms... aka Myrror realm?? Also according to the developers other races would cause problems with existing armor matching the body form... I hope modding tools exist so c
Will there be a neutral alignment?
I hope a neutral alignment exists... I thought AgeofWonders:SM provided a good selection having: Pure Good, Good, Neutral, Evil, and Pure Evil
I'm guessing the green wall is definitely organic in nature. The white structure in the top left is some type of tomb or dungeon. Not sure why so many trees are near the city walls since strategically this would only help enemy attacks/sieges unless on the battlefield they are non-existent OR non-obstacle and unusable obstacle. Perhaps the trees support the organic wall? The sun like halo... most likely either the current sea
I hereby Knight Denryu as the unofficial maker of polls for the game Elemental.
I thought Age0fWonders provided a good solution by offering both the tactical option and the auto-resolve. I recall Stardock has already commented the same will be for Elemental, but I can't find the statement. This solution I think is best because some battles need the tactical guidance and others such as 1 Dragon verses a single unequipped Scout don't need the tactical guidance.
Well the main page says Beta testing will still be in June, but according to the Dev Journals it was pushed back. I know GameSpot.com still has Elemental:WoM listed as an RTS game as well.
I was under the impression the Essence is finite, however magic shards spread across the realm can be found to provide new Essence. Ideally the game would provide at least two options... one being finite amount and the other allowing a regeneration of essence over time... perhaps a slider by how much it regenerates as well.
Yes infact I have played GalCiv2 but the limit with that game was the ship's hull so its a little harder to figure out the limit on a human (or Fallen) maybe like three weapon training max.
Ideally the weapon maximum training should be unlimited, but the weapons which the unit(s) can carry should be limited to three weapons. Hopefully this is true for champions/heroes... and if we're allowed to move weapons bei
Hi guys. While playing GalCiv I find my self alot of times reaching a point mid game where the AI is not that chalanging any more and wishing that I could rais the Difficulty setting to bring life back to my game, I#m offcourse talking about games that start with lower difficulty settings. Anyway would it be possible to guve us the options to raise the AI midgame? I'm mainly thinking about 2 methodes to
And not to be a pain, but could you shed a little light on whether LAN/Hotseat/PBEM multiplayer will be available? You made a lot of people concerned in your getting back to Elemental post. LAN almost certainly. Hot seat maybe. PBEM, not sure yet.
This is good news... thank you.
Quoting pdboddy, reply 8 And if they were to go back and make GalCiv2 multiplayer, that'd be even more awesome. It would indeed be awesome. Unfortunately, however, it's never going to happen. It wouldn't be worthwhile -- in terms of both money and time -- for Stardock to add MP to GalCiv 2 at this point. We'll just have to wait for GalCiv 3 instead. &n
I agree an official and more detailed response regarding multiplayer should be provided.
Developer Journal = April 04, 2009 If you have any questions, let us know. We’re always around. :)
There's multiple topics with different multiplayer questions... hopefully we'll have some clarification soon.
I felt the game options from AgeofWonders:ShadowMagic were done very nicely. The advanced section allowed for more details. The map editor from Heroes_3 was very easy to use and allowed many adjustments so whether it was a gamers first map or a gamers 201st map the experience was great.
We haven't gotten an answer about LAN play since that first quote was said by Frogboy. I wouldn't jump to the conclusion that its gone quite yet. Clarification would be helpful though.
I hope you're correct, but the statement seems to indicate no LAN: " No peer to peer. Not even hosted on the user’s box. Our servers."
The game is single-player focussed, just as Civ 4 is. There will be a multiplayer but its not the main focus, just as with Civ 4. So stop ranting about the multiplayer given what this game is about. Elemental is not Demigod!
I have no problem with Elemental being single-player focussed, but the fact that Elemental cannot provide the same multiplayer functionality as Civilization_IV is dishea
I had another question, since I'm a bit confused about this. Stardock has been saying that Elemental will have full multiplayer support, with multiplayer functions, such as arranged matches and whatnot, but then Brad basically went on to say that he doesn't care about multiplayer, and its a single player game. My question is basically, Will multiplayer be meaningful and fun, or is it just another "feature" thats only there to sell more copies? <br
