I don't quite agree bigger maps always mean more strategic paths. You can't really try a speed/blitz strategy on a huge map. That strategic option is taken off the table due to the size of the area to be conquered. I would certainly agree that large maps offer different strategies that never could come into play on a small map. I estimate if the game will include "undead" the population can be used for generating zombies or other undead types.
Those new with playing multiplayer on the internet usually leaves a bad taste in the mouth for several reasons. First the other players will sometimes cheat, second the other players may just quit without notice which leaves an empire weaker than having turned AI, third the other human player might be a significantly more experienced and slaughters the new player. If playing online I'd recommend finding a loyal guild of people who have values and game skills e

The modding of events would not only allow us to create our own fun events, but it would hopefully allow us to remove any events from the original game which may be unbalanced or bugged.
But why is bigger always better? Its like your average paradox game. NOW WITH 10.000 PROVINCES!!!!¨
If you are patient the larger maps are always better because it means more strategic paths not only on the map, but strategic options and it means much larger armies for larger battles. I'd rather fight an enemy of 20,000 units, 100 different summons, 15 heroes and 3 unique dragons than an enemy of 1
In the Total War series, there is no magical excuse for having complete, immediate and simultaneous control over vast swaths of land and huge numbers of people. You have that ability because not having it would result in a whole lot of tedium and not very much fun.
Well based on this statement all games should be classified as fantasy games. No game can provide all realistic fun
Uhh, ok. I misunderstood you, but now that I know what you were trying to say, I don't see the point really. Or at least I don't see the problem you're implying would exist. Yes, if Stardock creates an original creature and names it, people aren't going to read the name and guess what it is (unless the name happens to be very descriptive, of course). Stardock is going to write a description and history for all the creatures they include
Realism is not what makes games good. This is a fantasy game, and as such the vast majority of it is inherently unrealistic. That is, after all, the rough definition of the word 'fantasy.' It isn't realistic to have people who can shoot fireballs out of their hands, conjure up mythical beasts, set fire to the world or cause earthquakes with a thought or gesture or some words.
Actually realistic is a good reason because the more unrealistic qualities the less gamers are drawn into the gameplay. Realtiy is not balanced. A game must be balanced. The pretty standard way to do this is put mechanics into games because they are fair, then make them realistic through cosmetics, text, and lore. I'm also praying the limit is somewhere in the 20s. The option for more than 20 would be great as well. Perhaps gamers can specify any number they wish and the game can provide a warning that it's not supported, but still allow the gamer to continue. This feature would allow a high number of players to be tested and eventually made more stable and/or only available for those with powerful systems.
