Ok but what about vanilla protection and/or counter spells? Since the devs are ignoring this topic, I suppose that the answer is: no, there won't be spells like these in the vanilla game...as for modding I am not sure at all, that we can mod in spells like these, but hopefully
Yes, a coop option would be a blast. My best memory of a multiplayer game is Rise of Nations and the coop play. It was so good.
Huh? Option? Just ally with your mate/wife/whatever vs. AIs or other players. ;)
I don't understand why Stardock is putting any time into multiplayer other than it's expected these days. I play a TON of multiplayer; battlefield, demigod, etc. Recently i've put over 300 hours in LOL. But I will not play one minute of multiplayer in Elemental. How are you supposed to keep people from rage quitting in a game that lasts hours or days when they won't stay in a game of Demigod or LoL that lasts 30 min.
2 questions to the devs [hopefully they read this topic...]
...or not. [e digicons]8|[/e]
Hard to tell really. Usually I prefer MP over SP, but in Elemental, I will enjoy both, mainly because of the endless modding possibilities. That being said, if a high fantasy TC mod will be released, I will focus on that. [Very different races - AoW II. style for example...]
2 questions to the devs [hopefully they read this topic...]: #1. Can we mod in protection spells or counter spells? Is that possible? Primitive example: Firestorm, Volcano etc. -> Destroys x% of the buildings in a given city, and causing x dmg to the garrisoned troops. The great anti-fire spell -> Offers 100% protection against fire based spells in a given city. Question #2. If we can mod in new spells like the great anti-fire spell, what a

I ellaborated more on my mini-game idea here.
Actually it's not a big issue imo. I've played many AoW II. MP games, and I never got bored while I was watching the moves of the other players in tactical battles.
I vote for these: - Traditional turn based tactical battles [..or at least it should be optional.] - Time limit / turn [..we should be able to configure this, while we are setting up the MP game.] - Time out [..we should be able to change the number of timeouts / battle, while we are setting up the MP game.]
May I sugest the inclusion of early musketry and cannons in this game.
Hell no! [e digicons]:annoyed:[/e] If something like this will be added in the vanilla game, I will mod it out asap. :P

Yeah, this spell must be balanced for the final version, but don't ask me how....:|
Much nicer. And i strongly agree. The difference in power are what makes games interesting. If every faction is identical and uses the same things, yes, they will be balanced, but you might as well be playing chess. (not that chess is a bad game, but its not a 4x fantasy). Counter Magic can create alot of Magic that simply becomes MOOT. No one likes MOOT right? Awesome! Hopefully the crash issues have been fixed as well. :)
There should be some basic counter magic that anyone can use. Then there should be specialized counter magic that you get if either you know a spell, or if you can do its opposite. EX. If you know the fireball spell, you can counter it well, since you know it. On the other hand, you should also be good at countering the fireball spell if you know the Ice Blast spell, neutralizing and all that. Then there should be a set of super counter
