quoting post I think there is somewhat of a Consensus to Remove Essence from level gain entirely. There is a smaller Consensus to have all essence be equal and slowly gained over time at an equal rate (among all Sovereigns) -> meaning no sources of essence, just the essence that your Soverign gets over time. I am not at all in support of "essence" be
It's really a fantastic game, but I've never been a single player campaign kind of guy. I like to fire up 'skirmish' mode and have everyone go at it, AI or MP.
Yeah same here. I prefer multiplayer or sandbox mode in SP. This is why I am not even completed the campaign in King Arthur....and it's an awesome game as well. You should check it out [ Official website: http
Ah, Saboteur. Sounds better indeed! I'm gonna edit the title. :D + I like your proposed ideas as well.
One thing I would like to see for this game is sandbox mode vs. a story driven campaign. I'd like to for the AI to be attacking each other as well. As far as I can tell, its Philip against the word.
Hm...I wanted to buy this, but if this is true, I will skip it. No sandbox? The AI's are not fighting with eachother? Weird stuff. I can't wait for the King Arthur expansion however. They gonna add the sandbox mode
The current essence system [gain essence @ lvl up] will only work if your sentence -what I've quoted- is valid. It is, the frog himself said it. We've talked about assassins, and I have an idea for a sorta similar -yet different- "special unit". Wouldn't it be cool, if we could hire some nasty creatures and send them to an enemy city to cause some trouble? Like they should try to burn down some buildings and stuff like that. These units could move undetected on the strategic map because of their stealth ability, just like the assassins. [...Of course there should be global/local for a specific city spells which will "unhide" thes
Froggie - You should check out this thread as well, since it's on topic basically -> https://forums.elementalgame.com/382345 It's an interesting discussion about the essence "system".
Personally I think that having "dungeon" style combat for things like assassinations, special missions inside cities (say you are sending some champions to whack a crime lord who is siphoning off money and threatining control of your city, at least the underworld portion of it) and special missions against other factions and sovereigns (because you just have to have that artifact) is a must... if not for elemental, then for an expansion.
Just because someone want to have his Sovereign tied to a chair since turn 1 and still get Essence to do stuff without risking him into battle and/or because it isn't his style, doesn't mean that tying Essence to leveling up is bad. It only means that he need game mechanics that make viable such strategy. This would only make sense, if we would have a successor system and if the Sov would die because of old age. Right now the chi
Why not use the MoM system ? It was a good one, I think. You have a "magical research" value, and you must split it between mana or maybe crystals ? or spell points ? or maybe split between all of that ? and increasing your essence. For instance with 10 points of magical research you can do : spells points (2), crystals(1), essence(5), life spreading(2) or spells points (1), crystals(1), essen

I don't think that we are able to specify a dir for saved stuff. So...perhaps you should download and use Total Commander for example. It has access to all directories, and its very easy to use as well. All you gotta do is: Download&Install / Configuration / Options - Display - Show hidden/system files

Instead of having an envoy actually on the map moving around, when you meet a civilization you assign an ambassador to that country. Nah, Essence gained @ lvl up is absolutely ok. Gaining some essence / turn could work as an additional method. However I really like the idea of gaining essence via special sites/buildings or even creatures. Here is a post of mine, on topic.
Well, on Friday I finally got to see why it’s there and what it does. The internal build on Friday added in the spell effects (i.e. when you revive land or cast fireballs or whatever). I had assumed that each spell effect was being created in Maya and exported to be used. I was shocked to learn that no, all of the spell effects were made with the built in effect editor. The spell that really shocked me was whirlwind.&
