Improvements can be built on any square bordering an existing city square. This can work on both diagonals and horizontal pieces. As with cities, they can not be built within 5 tiles of a different city square. OOH!!! So thats why!!!! Why the FUCK isnt these things explained in the tooltips or Hiergawhaddayacallitgamon or anything ingame?? Basic core game RULES NEED TO BE EXPLAINED so you can play the game the way it was meant to!! (sorry ive
Quoting TLamming, reply 21 I think stardock is afraid to use things from MoM which is a shame. I wish they would take the good stuff from MoM. The stuff you listed above was great. Maybe because using too much from Master of Magic is illegal? Not that I don't think they could have taken more inspiration from the game, especially with regards to hero units, but there is a limit...<
I agree about the font, arial is so "im writing a thesis for my school" :P
Yes the one i have now is several years old however, back when i lurked the Galciv2 forums! :D I even tried resizing the avatar a few pixels down, and saved it again. The forum still wouldnt accept it, no .png's i upload is accepted >_ Edit: tried with google chrome, still didnt work. Tried renaming the file, didnt work. I could try saving it as a .jpg but then there'd be no transparency so no thanks =D
Why isnt this in the tech descriptions? >_ At least in a vague but still decipherable way like "...gives you confidence to enter harder dungeons". Tech description mod, anyone? :)
I still cant use ANY of these avatars, whenever i try uploading them and use them it just says "please choose another image"... >_
I dont understand how Stardock could release the game with those building errors (the war college info in the granary file??). I dont mean this in the "waaah u suck" way, i'm honestly simply curious as to how such a bunch of mistakes could be made?? I mean, look at it. Even a noob modder could instantly see that the building stuff was misplaced in the wrong file, but the question is WHY would it be in the first place? Who sat down and wrote in the war college stuff in the granary
Um so, your other thread.. Which files do i use? just this one or with the other ones? >_
Place any pngs in mods/theoriginalfolderstructure. Like mods/gfx/items
Looks insane XD But i only checked it in the map editor, almost no resources? Or do resources and other stuff spawn randomly automatically upon running a new game on any map? If so, cool :P
Saplings, in other words (just remembered what they are called, LOL)
With the lack of transparency-AA and the often flickering super-sharp foliage, i took it upon myself to try to correct it! Short story, smoother grass and foliage, especially those nasty barren & desert trees! I really really tried to take comparison screenshots, but after several attempts, i decided it was pointless. It's VERY hard to even notice any difference in screenshots, i apologize for that and i know most of you are like me regarding mods haha. "no
Being a gfx whore, my curiosity is killing me over gfx settings i cant seem to decipher! [e digicons]X([/e] First off, what does unchecking the "disable DoF" box do? It surely doesnt enable depth of field, i've never noticed it, and i cant notice any difference with it checked either.. Secondly, the Softness (adv lighting) setting which is supposed to control the bloom and such, has absolutely 0 effect as far as i can see. Then i installed the postfx mod which bas
Will you make a version with just the balanced colors, but still keeping the vanilla bloom and edge-burn and all the other jazz? :) This reminds me of that Fallout 3 mod, who also balanced out the colors. Before you saw it you never knew the game was overlayed with a huge "green" filter :P
Your equipment mods are...............aaaaaawesome [e digicons][/e]
I feel bad for ackimoo, all boxed in.. There should be a way to chop down forests..
Once you understand the game mechanics, there are just a littany of ways to obliterate the AI. Deinedez said it best. There are about 10 ways to win every single time on the hardest difficulty with just forward momentum alone. Half the time I get so tired of conquering and managing all of the extra cities I'm heaping into my empire that I don't even bother building in them. So basically to compound the proble
Whats the difference between putting it in the elemental/mods folder as opposed to the mydocuments/mygames/elemental/effects folder? Seems to work for me, but i'd like to know the difference.
Gotta start a new game :( As far as i know.
How much gildar? Why dont they display it anywhere? Why dont they display a drop-down box when hovering over your resources / gildar in the top row, so you can discover these things? >_
Okay, so this is just my opinion, but I value my opinion. I don't think the initial release of EWOM was ever meant to be an end game. This game was always meant to be a platform for us to play with and expand upon. This was meant as something that each person could make their own. If you want a fully polished and complete game that you play for a month and then move on, then buy SC2 or something other carbon copy piece of crap. How
Just add -1 food upkeep for even newly founded outposts, that way you have to give something to get something (those +1 gildar, material, arcane, tech and whatever resource you just founded it next to). There's no reason to have lvl1 cities be essentially free.
As seen in this screenshot, upon loading any savegame in 1.06 the small mini-trees (on the outskirts of forests) leaves dissapears, leaving only their trunks. (no i have not modded them)
