Yeah, I had to look that one up. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Time-keeping_systems_in_games Simultaneously-executed and clock-based turns In simultaneously-executed games (also called "phase-based" or "We-Go"), turns are separated into two distin
This is where the tile based part mattered for us (and for the AI). Some terrain, obstacles, and tiles simply provide better offensive and defensive bonuses, Controlling them matters. I am curious if there will be hero spells or if units will have moves that can possibly flush an opposing unit from tiles that provide a bonus. There would have to be a trade of for using the ability or spell. <span style="font-

Clicking the next turn button locked up the game. The game never crashed to the desktop and never generated a crash file. I had to kill the process from the task manager. It was using 1.5 gig of ram again. screen s
Story is hugely important to any fantasy based game. The story should be strong and the main campaign needs to really deliver. That said, does creating a tool, which you could use to build the main story assets and allow players to do some themselves, take away that much development for the core assets? [quote who="Denryu" reply="34" id="2605470"] First thing, i was severely disappointed in Spore, BUT there was some cool stuff that I think could be implemented from t
Yep, it is after loading a saved game. Portraits are fine on a new game. Still can't create a new game without exiting first. If I try to restart a new game after starting a new game or loading a saved game, half the environment on the map doesn't show up. I always have to close Elemental, start Elemental back up and then start a new game.

Pressed the next turn button and it grayed out and then locked up the computer. Had to force quit the application, as it would not crash out, even after a few minutes. I had all my units in a town. debug file When I did force quit the game, I noticed the game was using 1.7 gigs of ram.
This looks like the best attempt yet. They are staying quite true to the original. Hope they can pull it off.

This is awesome! When you say mod Elemental is that like a custom campaign that you can load through the Elemental interface? But if I wanted to create a more stand alone game I would have to dig into Python? How much and what quality of documentation can we expect? Recently, I was rather disappointed with Torchlight's documentation. While back in the day Dungeon Siege 1 was pretty easy to mod and scripting was explained well, their d

I don't know. But the cancel button was there to press. Another bug it appears.
I built my town right in the center of the map to plug up the choke point. There were a number of npcs milling around my town at the time of the crash. debug file crash file
1. An ogre attacked my sovereign and Viy. 2. I pressed cancel. There was no combat. 3. The next turn button grayed out right after I pressed cancel. 4. I moved my pioneer I had just created one space, nothing. 5. I moved my sovereign back one space and the turn button became usable again. debug file Anyone else seeing this after canceling combat?
I created a second new sovereign and one of the default sovereign's portrait became defaced. Full size image link Debug file
Good move. Bring it!
Most of these posts are related to 0.299 so it could be something different in 0.300. So the following information may be irrelevant. Built a city in a pinch point to try to move my sovereign, pioneer and other hero's to the other side. They move through the city fine in 0.30. I do notice that the next turn button grays out for a second more often then not when they move through the city, not sure if that is related at all.

When attacking a unit that is standing on tile that you can explore, like the broken down wagon, if you are victorious you move onto the tile but the exploration of that tile is not triggered. I have to move off the tile and then back onto the tile to trigger the exploration of the broken down wagon.
