I am currently able to edit my pioneers in the unit design window. This allows me to create all sorts of odd machinations. Side effects include: - units with no wages - units that are hardlocked to group-sized units (3 members) - units that are able to produce outposts and settlements The problem is this piece of xml 1 which makes them trai
This isn't a very big bug (and maybe just a feature I don't understand), but thought I should report it just in case. I started a new game, and made a custom sovereign. I did no ther customization other than setting the difficulty to challenging (random opponents). Once in game, I ran into an enemy civ right away using the sovereign that I'm using, that I just created for this game. We both had the same name and everything, he killed m
I've never trusted autoselect (or automove) in any game. can add auto combat to that list aswell. Nothing personal against stardock, and I hope they can prove me wrong; just am OCD about managing my troops.
Yes auto turn sucks because you dont get warnings when your cities stop building but autoturn was very useful to save having to search and click everywhere for your units!
If you play on small maps, this strategy would be easy to do. On huge/challenging it sounds tougher. I think I have to try.
Its the same strategy I use every game with each new beta with the same game settings huge and challenging. I keep hoping they will fix the spam and make the AI concentrate more on better quality cities and units as the player does rather than weak spam!
You can lower mountains with lower land, or raise water up to be land with raise land Also you can create hills to slow down the opponent (Takes more movement to move over hills, especially if you play Tarth yourself so you won't be playing against master scouts). Sincerely ~ Kongdej
I guess this had to be done because it was overpowered against the AI?
I use it to devastating effect in the early game - it's extremely powerful. Wolves and black widows are best off the start - stalkers will kill you, baby bears are too weak. I do think it's uses spell hit though - so if you're not a mage, it's going to miss fairly often. I'll often leave spider webs in my territory - when they respawn, I tame the new spider. You do have to get the timing down - if it
How is this useful now?
Too hard to use in combat have to constantly cancel the spell to get close enough
I am not seeing this anymore in the new beta?
I play on Harder. Before I was playing on Challenging in the initial beta 4 series. Now that I have modded things a bit, I made my own difficulty. It is somewhere between Hard and Expert. Basically I give the AI total sight over the whole map. They get a 15% bonus to gildar. Their Sovereign gets a 30% boost to Hp. That might not seem like much, but it really changes things past turn 200. Tarth in particular has a huge economic advantage in the first
What difficulty setting and map size do you do this on?
I am playing on challenging with huge map size. Does it matter?
Build one huge awesome city while the AI wastes its time and resources spamming settlers and pioneers and outposts and cities. Take over all of these with the awesome army you have amassed while the AI does this. Rinse and repeat. Please fix this!
Not working in my current game beta4a
Would save so much time than having to redo a new sovereign everytime we just want to make a tweak here or there!
I combined betrayers with natural leader and can go around and hire all heroes for free off the map. I love it but is it not a bit overpowering? Shouldn't there be more of a maintenance cost for heroes to prevent you from being able to hire everyone all at once and not having too many issues? It is very sustainable!
Quoting Tasunke, reply 49So in beta 2 ... it said rediculous had the best AI. Is this true? Or will we still get our "best AI" in Challenging? (at least in beta 2 B ) Challenging is the Best AI without the AI getting bonuses.
In the game it says normal is the option for this? Did this change but not get updated on the tooltip?
You get +1 strength if you pick both.
AI seems braindead?
They just cancel each other out and give +1 strength. Who wouldn't pick this every time?
Another desperate plead for Sovereign Death = Game Over Options! A solution for one of the biggest game gripes!!! I just always hated it in any game (AOW, MOM, ) that when you killed the enemy leader a whole enemy empire suddenly vanishes! Some sort of successor or heir takeover would be great!!! This would be a balance to using, risking, and losing a powerful leader is that the successor or heir would be much weaker and would have to start the

1.06 hotfix killed my saves is there a way to fix this or revert to 1.06 before hotfix?
Agreed I will no longer pick this choice now...
