Yes, the AI can create their own units and upgrade them but they have certain "special" units which I think only that faction will create and build. These units are designed to complement that faction. It is really pretty simple to me, those complaining are now nitpicking. The point is that they are not going to build the "unique unit" of another faction but rather upgraded basic units and their own special "unique units" That is how it seems it will work without actually having played
I think a lot of you are missing the point of the "unique" units. The point is that AI factions will be using their respective "unique" units which will give them diversity and flavor. AI factions WILL NOT be using other factions "unique" units. Only the player has the ability to make these "unique" units for their faction. I think some of you are not getting it. So what Derek is saying is that he doesn't want to eliminate that option for people who might want to pick and choos
I understand that some suspension of reality has to be done for games, that is why I said I could live with a 1 month turn. I wish it was customizable hehe. I would say just make it turns rather than seasons but I like the idea of having a year and dates, it helps me immerse in the game.
Maybe make 1 turn equivalent to 1 month. So taking five turns to go from city to city is about five months, and a building that takes 12 turns to make took 1 year to build. I think 3 months is a bit too much for each turn and 1 week is a bit too little, especially with all the dangerous land around the place and the fact that it is a "world" rather than just a "map".
Even in Ancient times it did not take

The visuals of the unnaturally raised mountains are pretty ugly and kind of lay waste to interesting aspects of a map. Are you completely sure that the land modifying spells are contributing to the game in a fun way? I had same feeling about it. It kind of make hills and special map loc
I like changing the land, in my opinion these powers are pivotal. I just hope they fixed the issues with pathing and such concerning changing the landscape or when buildings are present on hills or mountains and such. Plus you can only change the land under your countries influence and there is still no ships.
Got ya Frog, not trying to be confrontational. Any way you would consider changing how much time passes with each turn (question mark, sorry my question marks are not working) If not than would it be possible to mod that (question mark)
Quoting BlackRainZ, reply 20 I understand that the first 100 turns are just the setup but what does that have to do with a 99 turn non aggression pact. Are you saying that everyone is going to do a Non aggression pact within the first few turns and so it wont matter that it is 99 turns because the first 100 turns are slow (my question mark on my keyboard is not working) Pretty sure he wasn't sa
Quoting Trojasmic, reply 5 You had me all the way up to the 99 turn non-aggression pact. I thought we agreed that would not be carried over from EWOM. That needs to be a 30 turn pact or have a way to break it or have open borders included as part of it. May want to wait until you're playing. The pacing of FE is...very different. Right now, for good or ill, the first 100 turns are ju
Yes, I have 64 bit windows and the large address patch. I am already on season 551 and it is still running just fine. I think the map size is something like 240x220 or something. I of course already knew I needed that, but thanks for the info anyway. I am also using every faction in my game including all of the extended factions from the mod and a custom faction of my own so theres more then 20 I think. Its great but its a lot of work haha. 4 or 5 factions have already
Just started a new game with elemental version 1.4 and after the war mod and man its a good game now. I was surprised, but I am playing with a random map created by elementerra 2 so I don't think the game is the same when using the normal maps. I am playing on a super huge map and the AI has lots of room to expand. I am holding my own though but it isn't easy and the AI is only on normal.
this doesnt work no updates or download link anymore?
Why was the last thread on version 1.4 locked? I think some valid points were made in there and I can't seem to understand the response from frogboy. This is what was said: "I'm sorry you feel that way. I fear you won't find FE to be worthy either. I certainly enjoy WOM at this point and I think most people would. That said, sure, I can see endless ways to improve WOM but it absolutely makes no sense to try to overhaul WOM because no matter what, users will always be able
why does it have to be for FE? I just want the AI to be able to go in a transport ship and move around, it can't be that hard! They don't have to attack, just transport units.
Frogboy, I know this is not a major concern, but can you do something with ships, please? Can you at least get the AI to use them? I really enjoy playing super large maps with continents and it sucks that the AI is unable to move over water. Also, can we make the heal spell more effective? Its basically useless in my opinion. I think it is fine that soldiers can be glass cannons but the time requirements for creating units should be severely lower
Pads are still PC's! What are you guys talking about. How is that not still a personal computer? Is it "Personal"? Yes. Is it a computer? Yes. Therefore Pads, laptops, even smartphones could be considered personal computers. I would even consider a piece of technology that you place over your eye and you can do all the stuff you do on your desktop as a PC. If you mean Desktops are going to be going the way of the dinosaur then i would say yes but not yet. Once pads can do what Desktops ca
The problem in the shard system and specialization is not about adapting to the RNG of the game, but that while the game is balanced around each player having N shards or so, player 1 has many shards of his preference and thus can skip most of the research required to specialize in other spell trees, while player 2 who found many shards of other types has to spend it and train everything around it. This leads to player 1 being superior
I have been playing fall from heaven 2 for the past couple of days. For whatever reasons I had never played it even though I have owned civ 4 since it came out, wasn't much into the civ mod scene. So I played it and wow, its amazing. It has so many cool things going on and such variety in factions and religions and units and everything. I wish Derek would bring these kinds of things to FE.

Indeed.

Oh come on, so what you are saying is that you can't control yourself? You have no self control at all? So, if someone doesn't eliminate an option for you, you just can't do it yourself? Seriously, reflect on that a bit.
Again, this is a ridiculous argument. You had a chance to get a refund, and then even a partial refund before. They even extended the dates they would allow people to get a refund. They even offered a free game for those who purchased EWOM! This is above and beyond the call of duty. It is way too late for that, although you can always try to do it if you like. I have bought many games that were garbage, and honestly I still got more worth out of EWOM then all of them. Take the loss and just m
