But is it not the same team that released the piece of crap WoM? I mean if FE is as horrible as WoM Stardock will probably go out of business. They have proven they can put out good games now they need to step up to the plate and provide. There will be a huge backlash is FE turns out bad, and I am sure a lot of people asking for their money back.
Nero, you seem to be pretty badly misinformed here. First, it&#

I'm going to eat my words and not even try it out either. I'll just wait for FE.
Not yet, but there will be one before release.
A lot of people here are jumping into conclusions without having ever even seen the game in action. We've seen very few gameplay pictures, practically no gameplay video and have no clue about the core gameplay at all. Maybe everyone should just wait for a little while before saying that the game is going to be perfect or the worst game ever. Saying that terraforming is too powerful to be lvl 2 or 3 is premature as well. The only thing you can base that argument is WoM and we have
Since we're off-topic now, let me continue. It's unfortunate that these threads always end up being either very negative or discussions about the community. Also, a lot of people write too lenghty posts, when their point could be written in a couple of sentences.
I disagree with Ahara to some extent. In my opinion the base spells are good. It's a bit heavy on the direct damage and buff/debuff, but I feel like it's fine for the base spellbooks to be somewhat similar. But I also agree with him/her. More summons wouldn't hurt. The spells are distinctively missing nature spells, that call animals to the aid or make trees come to life and fight for you or make the forest protect you. Since there's a whole additional death spellbook,
Some feedback that can be made without trying the spells: Inferno is universal and the description says that it lasts for 30 turns. I guess this means 30 tactical turns, but how long does it last on the strategic map? 30 seasons feels quite a long time, especially if it has the same cost on both maps and no maintenance cost. I really feel these fire spells should be able to spread through a forest to make huge forest fires. That's what I call an interactive terrain. Curgen
It would be fun if when firestorm is cast on a forest tile the fire would spread to adjacent forest tiles. By the way, Slow is displayed as both a level 1 and level 2 water spell. I guess it shouldn't be level 2 since there are two other level 2 water spells in the document.
E-mail and ask. You might, if you bought the game early enough. Not sure anymore though, but it's worth a shot if you want. Of course you can't keep the game and get your money back, so you'll lose the game(s). And how do you know about this extreme streamlining, when there is quite little info about FE out there. There's nothing to indicate that it's not an in-depth 4x game yet.
It's just a comment on how able people are playing games. You guys need really need to work on your interpretation skills and not demand everything to be phrased perfectly. It really is very self-explanatory here. Your comments just seem very silly and nitpicky to me. I do admit that it could've been defined better. But really, there's was no need to. It's clear as day even as it is.
And GameStop will get $0 from any Elemental games sold on Impulse anyway, so they couldn't really care less about this issue.
It says gamer IQ = IQ of the gamers, right? That's how I read it atleast. If they mean something else then they should make it clear.
I don't know how you can make it any more clearer than having the definition of 'game IQ' in the sentence just before the one that gave you a headache. If you really can't get arond the additional 'r'
I was reading the siege battle thread and Derek's post about how fights shouldn't drag on too long and the starting positions shouldn't be too far away from each other. This brought to mind kind of a fun idea I had about the starting unit positions in tactical battle. What if, when starting a battle, there was a roll made to see which group, attacker or defender has the tactical advantage when initiating the battle? The one who comes out on top could make a choice
It will appear in our games list once the beta begins. This is not official information but near to 100% certain being true.
Isn't it cool that the more skilled developers have to do the dirty work such as AI and tactical battle coding, while you Boogie get to work on the cool artsy stuff that can become really memorable if you do it just right?
I hope this topic stays on topic. I abslutely want siege battles in FE. I would like other interactive tactical terrain features as well.
I'd prefer shying away from using adjectives in default monster names though. According to my knowledge, no actual animal or creature has an adjective in its base name unless the adjective describes the animal visually (like the spotted dolphin) or their behavior in a very concrete manner (jumping spider). There is no "bored boa" or "irritated bear" .. except for angry birds. Ravenous implies to me that something has happened to the Harridans and they've become ravenous. Of co
You got me convinced. I'm sold on the Harridan now. But now that we've gotten into the conversation, if there are Ravenous Harridans, shouldn't there be normal or some other types of Harridans as well? Why the need of the prefix adjective 'ravenous' if there are only one type of the monster? You shouldn't call a zebra a 'Striped Zebra' unless there are non-striped ones as well.
They are taking the boats away because boats & gameplay on water is not working in the game and needs a LOT of work. The AI players can't handle it, there are no rules for combat on water etc etc. Water gameplay might come later on as an update, but probably not in WoM.
I think you're missing the point. I understand your logic behind the naming, but Harridan doesn't say "spider" to me, and I of course understand that you want to defend your idea for a name. No need to attack me. Black Widow works because it's an actual name for an actual well known spider in the world. Therefore it's easier for players to make the connection. Ravenous Harridan to me could be any kind of creature; an orc race, a flying monster or just as well some rock
There aren't supposed to be any boats or harbors in the game anymore, so that's why you're getting an error. The actual bug here is that Empire actually lets you build harbors.
Yeah the Ravenous Harridan is pretty strange a name. Hard to know that it means a spider. Sorry DsRaider, but can't really help but be confused about it. :P
I've missed animondays. Thanks for bringing them back and with an awesome vid as well.
Fleeting / Withered / Withering / Diseased / Sickly / Exhausted / Weakened - Sovereign weakness that reduces Constitution by 3 and only allows the unit to heal 1hp/turn EDIT: I also like the idea of magical names for some conditions, but if those are used there needs to be a delicate balance to make all condition names fit together.
I agree with Kenata. I'm sad if WoM ends up abandoned and we will never have a grander scale galciv like Elemental game to pair up with the more character based FE.
