The tech tree, the pacing, build times, AI and a whole bunch of other factors are all tuned for a specific spawn frequency. By introducing this slider, you might end up playing matches where the entire dynamics of the game our thrown out the window. In this kind o

If we choose to have our lands covered in forests then it would suit our faction to choose traits that allow for better movement through woods... or perhaps just give our enemys a movement penalty. I am used to Guardians from the Heroes of Might and Magic games. Since there already is a system for interacting/talking with NPC`s, we could make this quite advanced. When you talk to the bandits guarding the goldmine you could get options like: 1. Fight them and try to capture the mine 2. Pay their price for getting the mine with no fight (for example 150 Gildars) 3. Do a quest and get the goldmine as a prize from them

Regarding more build options early on and how to stop the easy rushing of AI capitals. Suggested buildings: Homeguard (not sure about the required material/gold to build - requires two citizens pr city level). This building will take two pesants pr city level and equip them with best available equipment. When city with Homeguard is attacked these will be added to normal units in city. This way one will have some extra defenses in cities without much micromanagem

The general rule of error fixing in windows: 1. Restart computer and try again (you probably passed this) 2. Full uninstall and reinstall (have you done this?). Check that the Elemental folders are empty and especially the ones referenced in your errormessages there. This is most likely the answer from any support department no matter what software gives you trouble. If it was a crash problem, then add reinstallation of drivers.

@bonscott - The scaling thing made me throw away the game after about two hours. I know that there came mods later that removed scaling, but it really should not have been nessesary to implement mods. I have never picked up the game again. It was one of the worst ideas in gaming history.

I am buying online only now and have been for years. Using about the same amount on games as before, or maybe a little more.

There is a difference between videos and games. Videos are VERY easy to copy and I really sympathise with your problem. Still, there is no way that Stardock would sell many times as many games without piracy. The marked for strategy games arent that big. There are also differences between types of games (what audience they target). I agree that Stardock has a good solution and is on the right side of the fence. Steam is just on the other side as I dont want the client to run when I pl

You have some points, but you are just making up numbers here.

Please make them a bit aggresive so that they will expand by conquest if they see an opportunity. That will bring life, fun and surprise to the game. :) Suddenly a group of darkilngs emerge out of the fog and snatches my newly placed city by the gold mine and the fertile land in the valley :)
