If one is afraid that too many options will scare casual gamers (if they ever play such games) then the options could all default to normal, and one can have a button to Advanced options where all the goodies are "hidden".

I never got an email, but when I logged on to the Stardock store with my Impulse credentials, it was there.
Interesting!
The hero balance thing is a multiheaded beast, I agree. But I still want to slow down levelling of heroes and therefore I would like a slider. My settings would be inclined towards making the world as dangerous as possible, as I like games where I most often go down but once in a moon I win. The victory is just that much sweeter :d
Quality post by OP!!
There is lots of discussion about how the game should be. Some wants a cleared area to stay clear, some like god-like heroes and so on. I have my own preference of course. In order to cater to as many as possible I think we should be presented by sliders. Below are some suggestions on how this can be done: Sliders Monster respawn None (cleared out land stay clear) - Normal (some respawning) - Aggressive (lots of respawning) Monster aggression
[e digicons]k1[/e] karma to OP. I totally agree to everything said in your post.
I have sent 3 debug.err files now. Every game crashes after a while. I have gmail open and ready :) Sending them to with subject Fallen Enchantress report
Yeah, its looking good. I have had one crash, and not played much. Still, I am impressed!
I got no email, but the download link was in the stardock store when I logged in. Have you checked?
Thanks for very good info. We need a wiki :)
Not sure why you would even try to play this game. Its a gonner. Its FE or nothing these days.
@SD_Skittles - I didnt get one. Will be interesting to see if the download appear. And I have not changed email JOA
Perhaps an opportunity to challenge google? Mayhaps alternatives with more raw searches will appear soon.
As a fellow norwegian, I also have no idea about the timescale here. How much time left?
Is there a difference between people in the wild and monsters? By that I mean that I have a dream where a wandering bandit takes an empty city and starts his own empire. Would be SOO cool
For me its all about single player. :)
What a day of expectation that was :d And what a let down the release was.. And now they have gotten our panties in a twist again...
I just checked details. I payed $50 bucks. wow, what a ripoff :)
I got Thursday, September 17, 2009 order date. Not bad :) Havent gotten my email though. Waiting tfor the right batch :)
Civ V is easier to get into than Civ IV
That I can agree too, but its miles behind in quality, depth and interesting choices in my humble opinion.
Quoting Seleuceia, reply 43Am I the only person in the world who enjoys Civ V more than Civ IV? I'm in that camp too.
Heresy!
Since we are in the last ten years Total Annihilation and Master of Orion II is out. Last ten years: 1. CIV IV 2. Kings Bounty 3. Skyrim Honorable mention to Defense Grid Gold, but its more of a casual game.
Sure gonna be interesting!
Do you use bittorrent software. My router drops and need restart if I do this and dont limit number of connections.
