To be honest, I still don't see any reason why I NEED to upgrade... XP64 works great... What is there in Win 7 that's so great I can't go without?

But i figured i´d ask sooner rather than later, since i´ve heard that, time wise, the window to participate in the beta is rather small. My situation is this: i already have an impulse account (bought Galciv II: TotA through it) and i al
You European dudes would probably have far better luck if you had your own awesome download service, this stuff is more complicated than it looks.
I don't think the problem is that it's complicated, what would be easier, no country check, or a country check? I think some of those publishers really want to keep the game price higher in Europe in the 35$ = 35 euro way... Well, it's their loss, if I can only buy a game I want for an inflated price, I'll look for another ga
A muliti-diplomacy-screen option where you would be able to open up negotiations in a specific order with a specific agenda in mind. Imagine that you wanted to stop above mentionen Emperor Y from burning more of King A's cities, but you do not yourself posses enough "leverage" to really make a bartering point against Y. You would then be able to open op secondary negotiations with King B and ask him to supply some of the leverage.
This is somewhat like an idea I posted
I always assumed that a player "going Gandalf" would have no nation/empire/kingdom whatsoever. At least, that's what I got from it when that term was first coined (don't remember what thread that was, though) It would be a very, very different style of playing than usual. Of course, this is all moot if it turns out that going Gandalf, at least the way I envision it, turns out not to be a viable strategy, although I hope it will be, because different styles of play are always good.[/quo
WRONG... a powerful channeller is used for expansion because he can conquer cities from independents as well as other players during early stages. No need to essence the land when you can steal from your neighbors. The powerful channeller is also able to conquer any building structures such as a moderately guarded gold mine or mana node which would otherwise take many turns in building an army and/or magic research required. Well, I used to play around in Angband for a bit, even had my own variant for a time, so now the idea has been set, it's certainly something to look into... One of the hardest parts would probably be to get models for all those monsters.

The Soft100 en Soft75 pictures seem to give more depth to the world, but also seem to remove a lot of detail. I like the dark tower / castle (the building itself) in the NoHDR picture the best, but the effect around it look better in the Soft pictures. I'd like something between the Soft75 and the NoHDR one...

To be honest, I can't see much lightning differnce between these two screenshots either... If you look at the forest in the bottom right corner from the first screenshot, and compared it to the forest in the second one... Looks the same to me... If we could get the same composition, same zoom level,... on two screenshots with a different lightning setting, it would make things easier to compare. For now, I don't care which one I'll get, as long as I get it...

Well, I've no intention to keep on discussing something with someone who's insulting and doesn't want to listen to anything but the little voices that are only talking to him... Only time will tell who's gonna be right about this, maybe you are, but the experience I have with Stardock makes me have great faith in Brad's words. I have no doubts that somethings will be suggested, asked by a majority of the fans but will still not get implemented because too hard to program / not fitting
