Question: would it be a good thing if the game also sent you to the Research screen every time you load or start a game, like in GalCiv2?
I never really liked this option, but I'd love to get a warning (message / color change / ...) somehow that I'm not researching anything. I usually notice it now when I haven't gotten any new tech in a while...

Using the feather (or whatever) mouse cursor gives me some problems as well, I've send my units to the wrong spot on more than one occasion already. It might be that the view on the cloth-map has also something to do with this. Is there a way to change the cloth-map view to a more top-down view?
Is this the same issue as this? See the pics there.
That's exactly how it looks for me... Seems to be the same issue.
Seems like something that should be implemented to me as well...
I can confirm this bug, happens here too...
Same here for me, had this happen two times already... Here is the DxDiag info... ------------------ System Information ------------------ Time of this report: 9/18/2009, 07:17:59 Machine name: GANDALF Operating System: Windows XP Professional x64 Edition (5.2, Build 3790) Service Pack 2 (3790.srv03_sp2_gdr.090319-1204) Language: English (Regiona
I guess this interface isn't final yet, but it would be nice if you could cancel creating a city add the screen where you can name it.
As far as the current info goes, there isn't a 64-bit version yet. I think they are still trying to get a 64-bit Havoc physics engine from Intel... Edit: Damn you Kryo [e digicons][/e]
Haven't gotten an email yet either, but you might to try and cheat like I did... A few months ago, I asked for an update on all my registrations on Impulse. In the mail I got back, there was a registration key for Elemental. When I saw someone was downloading the beta, I just tried adding this key to Impulse and it worked... 55% and counting at about 230KB / s
Weeee... Installing as well, and I didn't even get an email [e digicons][/e]
Can we make it a class action lawsuit? I feel the same problems coming up...
Less then an hour and counting... (If my timezone conversion is more or less correct...) Can't wait... [e digicons][/e]
Very nice, though I wish I had the dictionary I need to read the Runes.
Well, some kind soul was good enough to decipher all the runes when the first concept art was released all that time ago... You can find it at https://forums.elementalgame.com/329016 Hope that helps...
Plus, helping make the game "Fun" for several thousand other people tickles the martyr in me...
Yeah, it's a hell of a job, but someone got to do it... [e digicons]O:)[/e]
Considering "it won't be fun"tm and it will be full of bugs, crashes and who-knows-what-more, why not realease it now?
I guess because they don't want to get hundreds of mails telling them 'Button X gives an error' when they already know about it, and want to solve that error before beta.
For me it's pretty simple, if they put silly restrictions on my ability to buy and play te game, I won't get it... The last game I bought in a brick & mortar store, was the CE of Wrath of the Lich King because I couldn't find a webstore that still had it in stock. So unless they give me a really compelling reason (Like some really interessting extra in the box) they lose a sale by restricting my purchase.
isn't stardock going to comment about all this? I'm just wondering what stardock is planning.
Well, they can't comment on everything off course, and I guess their first priority at the moment is to get the beta done. Once the beta is out, we'll probably get a lot more information and the discussion on features like this will really start heating up...
so, GW Swicord (or anyone eles who feels like answering), if i pre-order now doest that mean i will be in the beta, or will i have to download the beta before the deadline hits to get in?
If you pre-order now, you can get the beta. The way Stardock usually works is that everyone who orders before the beta is released (and a bit afterwards) will get the beta. Everyone who pre-orders after a beta phase as started will have to
IMO, there *has* to be a way to prevent other people from doing things like casting volcanoes on your cities, provided you have the magical resources and power necessary.
Off course there has to be a way to counter city destroying volcanoes... I'm just against the idea that the volcano spell shouldn't be castable (or at a much higher cost) just because it's cast on a city... If you need to research a lot to reach the volcano spell, you should also need to resear
Welcome on board... I'll try to answer these questions, but as the beta isn't out yet, and these things might change over time, don't shoot me... 1. Depends what you mean with 'Unit Creator', if you want to make your very own unit with it's own new model, textures, ... you'll need a external 3D program like Maya or 3DS Max. If you mean outfitting existing units with existing armor and weapons and the like, I assume that will be in game. 2. In <a href="http://www.daedal
Go YYYYMMDD and be happy.
As a programmer I have to agree that this would be the most logical/usefull way to display a date. Problem is to get all those other people convinced to change to this format...
If you let an enemy Channeller get powerfull enough to raise a volcano, and let him get close enough to one of your cities to cast it on a city tile, you deserve to loose that (or part of that) city. I would find it very strange to see the cost of such a spell be raised just because you try to cast it on a city compared to casting it on an army. The only things that should have an effect is power (if we can change that) and distance from the channeller who's casting it.
We love you too... [e digicons]:inlove:[/e] Now go and complete Elemental... [e digicons][/e]
Turns out I found an older thread on this issue: http://software.intel.com/en-us/forums/havok/topic/62220/ Doesn't sound too promising, though. Maybe SD has been able to get them to make 64-bit physics a priority (here's hoping, anyway)!
Well, the way I read that thread, is that intel doesn't have any plans to supply a 64-bit trial version have the Havok engine (Try Havok) but if a company wants to get the source code to compile their own 64-bit v
If you look at this picture: I think we can see some kind of mine, but I think we can also conclude that it's possible to build walls away from your city for extra protection. Also, if you look at the picture with the city stats, it seems that a level 2 city (Hamlet) can occupy 12 tiles on the map and can grow to have 2000 citizens... This makes me wonder how
