Well one brush fire put out. A sticky like this is going to get a decent amount of traffic, being up at the top. And now I'm going to get some sleep, us 3rd shifters need to do that sometimes! I hope you all have a great day!

Hence, the comment about the old hands, and new ones. I did read the Elemental FAQ for dummies, but still didn't see it, until I did a ctrl+F to find it. And a few months ago, I didn't see Brad mention it. I think that calling attention to it is useful. Because maybe.. others missed it as well. Or further, maybe they've missed some other key piece of information, that is obvious to some. But not obviously to them, till found later.
Well that was a pleasant diversion. But what I liked was that it gave us a look at some monsters..
I would have to say, one thing I learned as this thread prompted me to find it. 224x160 is the tile size for this game, which compared to Civ IV 104x64 is just a mammoth beast. That said, I don't know if the campaign (Single Player) will be more advanced larger drilled down focus on the region, or be more abstract and pulled out with that above map fitting in the 224x160 or not. That'll be answered later on. But this should be a fun ride.
[quote who="Kestral2040" reply="44" id="2646566"] It sounds like your Digg submissions were rejected because of some confusion on how they were linked, the system is designed so that if something is rejected it can be re-evaluated and we will look at them again and award points where they are deserved. Thanks for bringing it to our attention, remember there are a lot of submissions so there will be mistakes from time to time but they can be fixed.
What in the nine hells am I talking about. Well the link http://www.giantbomb.com/elemental-war-of-magic/61-24369/ Was posted as a Unique Promotion. What did it do you ask? Well, when I clicked on it and glanced over it, I found myself getting questions that were sitting in the back of my mind. Well answered. The part about world size 224x160 tiles. Was clearly right there, at the bottom

On the Digg site, I didn't notice any articles submitted with that name. http://digg.com/users/IslandDog I did Digg his most recent ones. Here in June, and they were rejected. And the rules aren't updated to reflect it. I just went through your previous submissions (the admin tools were just now updated to permit that) and it
I'm really also looking forward to this path of the process. And what it all entails. More on how the implementation will work, and how expansive dungeons will turn out being. Like the sovereign going on dungeon raids as it were, finding ancient lost whatevers... And then see if there would be some tactical combats against various denizens of those lairs. And so on. And if we'll be able to bind a few "adventurers" to a band and have them adventure together, exploring the

And this is part of the marketing campaign, building viable hype before it goes live. But Stardock has always been very honest and upfront about all of this. So if they said they were doing this to reward the fans, and in a sense help build hype. That I believe. Brad Wardell i

Which is not cool. You were most likely trying to get credit for ancient posts which have no realistic chance of benefiting from being dugg (and would be kinda pointless even if they did make it to front page since they're outdated info). I really can say Fallout 1, is one of my All time favorite games. Fallout 2, was a fantastic continuation of the series. Both were just great games, (though not with their .. ahem bugs). As far as Fallout 3, I've not completed it due to graphics glitch, and a bit of boredom. But that being said, I think it's a wonderful game for what it is, an artists recreation of a beloved series in a different perspective. Different, with it's own very strong gotcha moments. (How abou

That was an incredibly anemic review. It lacked any passion, and interest. It was like reading something by someone who's forced to fill a quota.
With tactical battles out for this one. (Which is fine, cause doing them right is important.) My question would lead upon the lines of defenses within the landscape, forts and out posts, castles, and things of that nature? Anyone have any information on what the planned nature of that will be? Castles/Keeps etcetera after a period of time, not just at a town/city. Brad, is it a case of setting a priority for the AI or for it to set one for itself, on exploring the world, to recover magic/resources. And then as you mentioned for it to learn. I for one understand the part about it learning. That makes sense. My question in general is how important is a navy going to be. I get the part of the test meat grinder. In all of this, I have complete confidence in your AI skills. And this version sounds even better for it to learn within the progr
