Oh I know about the Medieval 2 Total War music. It's in my music rotations! hehe... and I also use it in our D&D games on Sundays. Fantastic music, incredibly immersive!
Gorstagg, I was wondering how you capture your videos. Later, LAR
I use a program called Fraps. It does a good job, and then you've got to get a video converting program to convert the videos you take. Right now, my videos run for about 7 or so minutes, and get to 3.90 gigs in size. As a massive .avi file. Then I run a conversion program I picked up, I think it's Any converter or something like it.
Hey Wintersong, I just took a quick view through here again. I really like the effort you've put into it. Good job!
It sounds like your immersion is enhanced with better aural presentations. That makes sense. Me, I would love it if they included a music player or gave us access to our own music player, so we can play whatever music we like comfortably from within the game. So that way when the mood hits, I can switch to the Lord of the Rings Soundtracks, or maybe a King Arthur one, or the Dawn of War 2 40k music sound track (really outstanding work by the way). Or something more classical, or even
Thanks NorsemanViking. I'm intending to take some new ones soon and get them up as well.
Hey everyone, I just wanted to let you know I've put up 2 brand new videos on my blog. I do hope you enjoy them!
Thanks WhiteElk, and glad that you got to enjoy the video's. I'm working on putting a few more together. And having fun exploring what everything does. And learning as I go, but also trying to share some insights that I've picked up too along the way.
I for some reason thought I had already reported this, back in Beta 2. But I can't find a post to indicate it. When I have anti-alias of any level turned on. The world goes all white, and completely becomes unplayable. It has to be disabled in order for me to even see the world, or anything on it. That includes the cloth map as well. Video card: GeForce 8800 GTS Drivers: 257.17 WHQL - 6/15/2010 I'm just reporting it, though I wouldn't be surprised if othe
That's good to know. (Mine was way up in the worlds himalayas at the time, and I didn't even think about that. But I'll remember it for sure if it happens again!) Thank you Wintersong!
Quoting ddd888, reply 18i think there is a number showing it somewhere Main characters like Sovereign get an icon on the left that darkens when there are no more movement points but I've yet to find any indication for common units.
Yes this is very accurate. I found that to be a bit jarring especially when I'm sending caravans out into the world. And there wasn't an icon for them to remind me to go to them, to make
I was just in the game, and got my Sovereign up to visit the Witch on the Small map, Single Continent. I was asked to find her sister, when I accepted it, the sovereign paper doll figure disappeared. It reappeared when I closed the game down and logged back in. I'm using an Geforce 8800 GTS, with the latest drivers (6/15/2010 257.21 WHQL)
You tried getting points for answering a question...except you were wrong (customization will be enabled more as the beta progresses and full-on modding will be tested at the end before release)
Actually in reality I tried to get points for participating on the forums, and posting more than a single line. But that said, I also accepted that if it was rejected, then there was a good reason. Though just a heads up Kryo, on my rejection
Thank you weez2mo. I fixed the comment! Funny thank you for catching that! [e digicons]^_^[/e] And thank you for your comments about the vids!

If your getting rejected, look at how much your post contained? What was it talking about, was it germane to the thread. Hey all over on my website, http://gorstagg.wordpress.com/ I put up some videos of Beta 2A that I got to experience last night when I got up, and got to play some before running off to work. Now that I've had some time to really get a good handle on the gameplay and Sovereign construction, I've got to say I'm still impressed. This has come a LONG way since Beta 2. And is really starting to feel like the game that I'm an
With all due respect, I find quite ridiculous to complain because of the number of words of a story. There I was thinking that content matters more than word count. And it's not totally like a contest about doing some subjective stuff* to be evaluted by subjective people. This is not 2 + 2. * diggs and similar stuff not included in this comment
I respect your side of it. I disagree with your comment a
I was doing some thinking about this new version. It's a more concentrated city, with a specific style, now. But bear with me on this, I was thinking that wouldn't it be neat if we could add Flavor buildings, per city level. So that way we could expand the city a little bit in a direction we want, but not have it take time, just some city planning. For example a level 1 city could be given 3 new pieces, they could place down that have No mechanical benefit beyond
also keep in mind that there are multiple people awarding points, not everyone sees every submission so they are not always judged based on each other. Plus the scoring rubric is subjective and will change from person to person. We are trying to make it fair but it can be tough
Would it make any sense for us to possibly include the points of similar items listed elsewhere? So that there is a reference
In my beta 2 preview, I do indeed slaughter many adventurers out in the world. But I also point out it's because that it's this beta, and there are a lack of lower level monsters to level up on. http://gorstagg.wordpress.com/ They are available in HD for those who feel that urge to watch them in that version.
*rubs face* Ok, seriously? I've been drawing fan art for E:WoM for the contest. I don't draw often, but I'm putting my all into this, including carefully inking the drawings to the best of my ability. This is what's taking up my free time--what there is of it anymore since we're pretty busy here in the summer. I also don't want to complain or seem whiny. I got 20 points for this: http://maximilia.deviantart.com/#/d2s09
At my home blog, I've put up the first part of my Elemental story. It will have three acts, with three perspectives, of the events, as they occur, and their repercussions. This one, is the first, and is from the perspective of the adventurers. I do hope you like it, as I can confidently state, I like what's building and this game provided that for me. An impetus for unlocking creativity. And I wish that for all of you. This story appears there, and several other perspe
One of the things, I found myself thinking when I was playing. Is that there are a LOT of mountains, but not only that, they are completely impassable. Which got me to thinking. Why? Artificial reasons of the game, and ways to create some natural borders. That I get. But why make any part of the map impassable. Just increase the movement cost of going over a mountain be something like 6-8. Or some variable that is high and possible for those with a lot of movement. As a
Modding wise, it's trivial since the only thing holding back the number of units is gold which is settable in a text file. I play around with it all the time.
Brad, that makes me breath a swift sigh of relief. Because though it was unfounded, but going off of what currently exists in the beta. It really makes one wish for real armies. Of hundreds of units, maybe with some multiple unit training, or if there were dif
will i be able to create my green mean bulky orc race including mean ugly buildings??????
In the beta, no. After the game has gone live, and the modding community starts filling in orders, I certainly anticipate you'll be able to do so. Heck one thing Stardock has mentioned, that this game will be supported for many years. And it's just as easy for them to source out "Themed" mod packs to graphic artists, to create, a wider var
Quoting KellenDunk, reply 22 I don't think the system will take away from possible specializations. Especially if the system contains more nationwide unique structures. If you can only build 1 of each type of building, that right there pretty much tells me you can't specialize a city unless the building cap is reduced substantially (like 1/5 of what it is now) or many new building types are added (which would defeat the s
