The problem with the balance of each faction only having ONE/FEW overpowered things means that they are forced to focus only on that to the exclusion of other strategy. And it makes it more difficult for the AI. Each faction should have multiple viable paths of growth

The most important thing for a game being a commercial success is the INITIAL impression. While hugely improved over WoM, the game is still not quite what it should be and has the potential to be. It is very close but I do not think a mere 2 weeks are going to be enough to do sufficient polishing before going gold.

Where is the option to use AI governor to build structures in cities? This is really tedious when you have 20 cities and a serious flaw in the game.

Cell splitting is much scarier. The only way to get rid of them is to glass the whole planet. And removing sex as a biological consideration makes them more focused on slaughtering everything else.

Thanks for all your replies heavenfall. BTW I really like the interaction of various items... like how the infinite HP potion would interact with the immortal trait, etc.

Good point about the timing. An item can be very strong in early game yet near worthless in late game. How do you control which items are awarded at what stage of play though? Also, it seems to me that while the hexed penalty is not the end of the world, it provides more penalties then the items that give it seem to confer. And it is a practical guarantee that you will eventually acquire it since its a chance every time you are hit not when you are killed or taking d

Am I the only one who hates those "diminishing results schemes"? 1. Why should an empire 10x the size not have 10x the budget and 10x the army? That's what it is there for and if you remove it... well all the more reason to go sauron. Or in a game like civ just raze every single city immediately as you conquer it because conquering it is detrimental/worthless. 2. People can't wrap their head around complicated scales like log or power scaling. Although you could make s
