I was waiting for a while for all the players to connect to each other for a Pantheon match. On of the players wasn't connected to anyone. A few minutes went by and I saw I had the Eject Player option avalible. I tried it out and I crashed to desktop with this error message. [e digicons]k1[/e] Excellent idea. Lets hope GPG takes notices so this can become a standard.
This is very annoying as it tends to get you killed attacking something you think is almost dead but isn't.
Hmm, good to know, I'll have to watch out for this in the future. May have cost me more close matches than I realize.
Anyway, here's what I obviously think the team health/mana UI should look like: http://forums.demigodthegame.com/355788
Seems perfect, good idea.
I think a map maker would be great for this game. Should be easy too, the maps are simplistic enough, it's the the rendered 3d backgrounds that make it tricky, but I have an idea for that. If sometime they release a custom map maker, they could have custom maps just floating in space. Like a pretty stary, nebulous backdrop. Something that looks nice, but itsn't complicated.
In all honesty: DotA looks like Zelda 1 when compared to Demigod on video. I thought Warcraft III looked better, but yuck, you can see it's engine's age.
I think graphics are becoing less and less of an issue. I mean really, how much better looking can games get? Game devs will be just adding extra eye candy soon for the heck of it just so there is a reason to upgrade your computer :D The smart once will make games that look good without busting you
There are so many complainers asking for a panel to see your allies health/mana, and your enemies items. THIS SHOULD NOT BE IN THE GAME, THIS WILL MAKE IT EASY MODE.
While I kinda think enemies items should always be hidden, there would be nothing wrong with having a tiny side bar showing your allies health and mana. What good will Vent do you in a Skirmish or Pantheon match when it's pretty much random now. Plus how does not having
Hamer Slam is fine. It's more reliable as an anti-creep weapon if you don't get Boulder Roll. Once you get Boulder Roll II, and your enemy is in melee range, they can't escape. The fact Hammer Slam takes some timiing and forethought is balanced by the amount of damage it can do. Plus if you max it out it'll stare when you miss.
I think it did get some vast improvements since release. I played one Pantheon match were I forgot one of the players was AI. AI will never be perfect compared to a real person, but they have made progress.
Favor should be saving correctly. However, be aware that custom games save to a different pool than pantheon/skirmish, and if a game finishes without at least one human player on each side, favor will not be recorded.
And then does Single Player have it's own pool as well? Favor's was broke for so long I have know idea how it's "supposed" to work. Does it take a while for Favor points to register? I
But are achievements even working? I have a bunch of the ones unlocked for multiple demogods that say, do 5,000,000 pts of damage, er whatever. Ones I could not have possibly gotten yet. Plus I certainly do not have the favor points to go with them. If I would have known games when a player is replaced with AI don't count. All this time I've stuck around because I thought "Hey, at least I'll get some Favor."
What do most of you do as soon as the game starts as far as spending money on items? Do you spend everything you have on low level items? Buy your favorite favor item? Save it for better gear a little later? Early upgrades for the Citadel? For the longest time I would get the first tower upgrade from the Citadel and save the rest for later, but starting to think that's not the best plan. I usually play TB.
this remind anyone else of age of conan?
Holy cow, Demigod was 1000 times better at release than Age of Conan.
I just fought in a Pantheon game where My oppoenent was using Heaven's Wrath. We got destroyed! And he even got stuck with an AI player. Heaven's Warth gave him a huge lead in levels by the end of the match. He used it to farm creeps on opposet sides of the map. With his surplus of gold he was able to out gear us very early and we couldn't compete with him 1v1 any more. Plus there really isn't a "counter" for it. Playing conservitive while using this to farm creeps in other lanes mean
We can see that Cataract is the favorite map of players by far.
It's a nice balanced map...sure, but I think the main reason why Cataract is the most played right now is because 3v3s are the most consistant in terms of getting a game together. While I like Cataract, I also think it's borring. I like Brothers and Ziggurat more, but since they are large 5v5 maps, they are never played since geting 10 people to connect to one game, as we all know, has been a
I can see I'll have to clean out my intro and just get to the point, because people are not catching what I'm actually asking here. I'm not looking for tips to get away or catch people, I'm not asking for a nerf or buff, I'm asking: Do people like how it is right now?
My first few games of Demigod I thought the same thing. "The fastest demigods win?! They can chase you down and run away, unstoppable!" <p
We're still looking pretty good for this evening though - that's famous last words. -Brad
EXCELLENT!
If you are willing to try the beta versions, we expect to release build 111 of the EXE along with our connectivity updates. If you prefer the released version, we expect to release just the connectivity update.
...and when migh this be? Tonight? Earlier you mentioned a patch being ready for the weekend.
So we’re pretty spent at this point so we’re going to hand it off to the next crew and pick it up after we get some sleep.
You have team 1 which I’m directing which is focused on making the MP matchmaking in Demigod work well very very soon as in, by this weekend.

Ah, I was hoping for that patch this evening. Maybe that "next crew" will have a break thru and they'll be uploading it soon... [e digicons][/e]
This seems to be as of the Yesterdays beta. When I use Rain of Ice, it seems to have no area effect damage. I'll cast in on a bunch of creeps and I'll only see one damage number pop up. To make sure it just wasn't a glitch with the floating combat numbers, I made sure to highlight the healthbars and it indead didn't do any damage to other creeps. That same match there was another bug where one of the Demigods got totally frozen and he became untargetable by the other pl
The only one that can't fight while moving is Fire TB.
Is there a reason why he can't?
The main reasons people have problems playing against UB is that they tend to overestimate how dangerous he is in the early game, and often underestimate how dangerous he is in the midgame. Since you can't see the enemy UB's mana, if he spits on you twice at the start of the game you're only noticing that that's taken a toll on your HP
Very very true, but I still think he's deadly early game. Those spits DO take a toll on your HP. When I
so I was wondering if there's been any word on when this patch will become final and be out?
I think the latest blog post said Monday correct?
What I think would be best would to limit the demo to one big map
I don't like the idea of limiting maps for the demo release. You need to give them a good chance to play the game in all situations. What if the playble map isn't popular at that moment? You don't want to make it hard for the demo players to actually play the game consistantly. I think the simplist way to limit the demo would be limit the Demigod selection to one General and one Assassin. Or even releasin
Heck, just something that shows up on your record would be enough for me. Shows your win loss in Pantheon. Light, Dark, your Rank in the tournament, whatever.
Yeah, I can't wait for a Patheon system that works and makes games consistantly with 6+ players.
