@ARTHANASIOS
I really feel sorry for you for judging the gameplay of a game based on videos and screenshots rather than playing the game itself. That shows what an expert Total Annihilation: Kingdoms player you are! Sorry for my sacrasm, but the least you have to do before applying a negative comment on a game is to give this game a really serious gameplay. If you don't play the game at all or if you play the

Zynga....!! That travesty known as Farmville got to the semifinals (if memory serves) in The Escapists March Mayhem where the game of the year is decided. It took StarCraft II, Mass Effect II or Red Dead Redemption or some other AAA title to kick it out of the tournament. Farmville only gotted as far as it did because of the facebookers. *sigh* There are SO many causaln00bs on the internet it scares me [e digicons]:S[/e]
You mean this thread? I read the first two pages and didn't find any flaming.
Lord Cobol, well said. All 'exploits' require the player to actually implement the 'exploit.' And when he or she does, who is cheated? You have hit the nail on the head. An exploit is only an exploit if someone uses it.
That argument can be used for any strong strategy. Like in Age of Wonders: Shadow Magic, going with fliers against melee units and using mag
I don't get why Warlords Battlecry and TA:Kingdoms looks like shit. First of all, Total Annihilation: Kingdoms has excellent looking 2D backrounds and 3D units with an excellent animation for its time. Starcraft has 2D graphics, so it is lower than TA:Kingdoms in graphical technology.
....Seriously, do you know what you're typing?? "Excellent looking 2D backgrounds" <--- No, it's not
If you are so much fond of Total Annihilation and Supreme Commander series, then you should try the 'little brother' of TA, called Total Annihilation: Kingdoms. However, keep in mind that it has a very different setting compared with the robotic-styled units of TA and SupCom, since it is a medieval fantasy RTS, and its gameplay is quite different too. However, I trully believe TA:K is the best rts around and if you give it a serious gam
On the release, I was here, reading about the trainwreck that Elemental: WoM were and just looking at the mayhem. People typing that they wanted Brads head on a plate, their money back and a missile to destroy Stardock with to punish them not only for their failure but also for their lies that the game was ready. In short, it was like watching two gangs fight to the death where there could only be one victor. A few days after the launch, Brad apologized
And that is probably the first indication that Gamestop is going to get eaten by Valve...
Actually, the first indication was that it's Gamestop [e digicons]:P[/e] Selling Steamworks games must be the 3rd or 4th.
I think it sounds great! [e digicons]:)[/e] The faction and Sovereigntraits sound fantastic! Units that are designed in a certain way are a bit better than anothers faction unit that are designed exactly the same due to the factions trats. I'm one of the very few that will not be in the beta (why play betas when I can play fully patched games?
It's funny that I only talk about this game on the Stardock forum because going to the SWOTOR forum means only talking to people who autoskip the cutscenes so they can powerlevel to 50 and start complaining about the lack of high level dungeons. The thing that really annoys me about the MMO hardcore gamer is the total lack of appreciation of the immersion into the journey of an RPG. The fact that they call it dungeon shows how l
One more thing: initiative. As far as I know more initiative means more frequent moves in tactical combat. What is real life (i.e. real time) equivalent of initiative? Speed (unit with high initiative can go further in the same time then units with low initiative) and reflex+awareness (unit with high initiative can attack more targets in the same time) I guess. So initiative stat should relate to dexterity attribute and moves
Why Frogboy AAR were never finished...
Yeah he needs to play on smaller maps. About the 'Raise land' and 'Lower land' spells, I suspect that such spells are too open to abuse.
A bit hard to choose.... But ultimately, I have to choose: First time I tried WarCraft II, I liked it. When StarCraft arrived, Blizzard became THE Gamedeveloper for me. When I tried Dawn of War in 2004, it was a new type of RTS and I couldn't go back to StarCraft
I uninstalled it hmmm must be more than a year ago. Never had any use for it.
You must speak louder and a bit clearer since it's hard to hear & understand everything you say.
Hightech countries gotta be able to compete in the cyberwar.
I wonder who these people are who send e-mails about the game looking to be "too hard"....It's like they haven't played War of Magic or GalCiv II and seen the difficulty lvls! Some people....[e digicons][/e] So....your first defeat at the hands of your creation....a milestone reached (and great pride I assume)? If not anything else, then atleast you can walk around the office and tell them about "computers taking over" and "A
Competition isnt happening already. The only way a big behemoth like Valve with steam can get competition is from another behemoth, like Apple. There´s several steamworks games on their mac store by now. Apple prohibits any 3rd party components in their apps, and such steamworks is ripped out on those games. Microsoft probably will do something similar with their own windows store. People here continue to refer to Steamworks
Rise of Nations Didn't like it. Its biggest offender is the pace & gamespeed. It wrecked the game for me. If you play on Normal or slower gamespeed then the units move jerkily, stopping and waiting to move for 0.2 seconds before continuning to their next animation. It looks so ugly. If you play on Fast (which is the fastest speed I think) then the units do everything perfectly fluently (just like in the AAA RTS g
Zealotry: I bought your product not because I wanted or needed it but to support a cause that I have assigned you to.
I bought GalCiv II two months after release for full price because you fooled me with your developerjournals which made the game look fun. I also wanted to support you since you are the only gamedeveloper I know that focus so much on A.I.
I ask this and mean the following: I rarely play a TBS game to completion, and it bothers me. HOMM3 was the closest I could get to a "good" sense of closure; in most of the other TBSs I have played, I find the late game problematic for the following reasons (if you want, you can see my threads from 2 years ago on my ideas of how to rescue Late Game in E:WOM, e.g. here and to a lesser degree here.) 1.
Heh. I was actually thinking about a post on that site complaining about fans complaining about the lack of paygo.
Paygo = Pay as you go? That was a bad mechanic and competetive players disliked it since you could "hold" a defensive turret in the ready and place it whenever you wanted and if you don't need it to protect your teching/ecobooming..?
Do you know anyone who has ever lost a game of Master of Magic? On any setting?
Actually, I've never WON a game in Master of Magic [e digicons]:S[/e] The first time I played it (like 6 months ago or so) I choosed Impossible with 11 Death books and got destroyed by big A.I armies.... Global balance - Each faction, technology etc got its advantage but you can stand up to it in some other way NO superstacks like in Master of Magic! Restrict it in some way (I'm thinking of something like max 25XP in one stack) Fun tactical combat by the way of solid mechanics like Age of Wonders Shadow Magic (Master of Magics combat mechanics aren't good enough) Cool animations that DOESN'T lag!
For sure, not an exact copy of Starcraft, but I thought it was the abandonment of traditional C&C elements that made Generals the game that it was.
True, atleast if you ask GameReplays. The classic C&C mechanics are old and outdated and nothing people want back (except the "TRUE C&C!!!" people....) Myself I hope for the best for this one as C&C G
