I must have been the only one who never liked Age of Empires II. It was slow, boring, soulless and an oldschool RTS where you have to manage lots of workers.... This mod doesn't seem to change my main complaints.

Should I try Sword of the Stars or Sword of the Stars II ? I'm a competetive RTS gamer who also like the Age of Wonders series (if a short way to describe me is needed). I've never played Total War (Yeah I know, HOW could I have missed that series). I need some way to give input in combats. Is that possible?

Since I like TBS like Age of Wonders and HoMM I thought I'd like SoTS II but after watching a clip of it in a Steam thread it seems to be about clicking around in menus most of the time like Galactic Civilizations II. In any case, GalCiv II was too much menues, too little action. I want to like the game but I'm not gonna fool myself again like I did with GalCiv II So Hawawaa, what's the best clip or let's play there is SoTS or SoTS II ?

Diablo III is one of the games I bought at full price and I kinda like it. I'm not gonna play it until some later patch since I much prefer finished games (don't mean that it is unfinished but f.e Torchlight won't get any more patches so I'll play that first). Heavenfall is also spot on with "no character customization. Not being able to put points into your character prevents people from scewing their builds up (like I did with my Barbarian in Diablo II
People keep saying that but they don't say why . I've seen videos and read about Supreme Commander and I really don't think I'd like that either. So much focus on economy and macromanagement and it's also largescale. I prefer micromanagement and small maps like Company of Heroes & Dawn of War offers.
Don't really like Supreme Commander 2 so don't think I'll like this. I'll try a demo of it though.
At first I expected this episode to be ironic but as I listened I realized it's true! Think about it. If you boycott some game by Activision, will they understand it's because of your loathing of them? No! They will think you don't want the type of game (the innocent) developer made and they will be sacked or forced to make safe stuff. I'm the same way. I buy very few games at fullprice anymore. Latest ones were Diablo III and StarCraft II. Before that it was Galactic Civilizations II. Steam sales have gotten me used to only paying max 20 euros. Then there is all the great flash and browser games. Then kickstarter came in....
What I bought at the Steam summer sale: The Witcher: Enhanced Edition I know. I'm surprised myself I didn't buy like 10 things. Steam is the savior of PCgaming and for that, I'm grateful. I LOVE its social features with friends list, achievements, easy printscreens and the communitytab so I can see what my Steamfriends are up to (who they added as a friend, what achievements they got and what games they bought).
