if it's your sovereign, I don't think they ever get negative traits from dying. Not sure though.

Ok, I guess that answers my question, but I still don't understand the design decision. At the moment it makes each city incredibly uninteresting. It essentially means the only thing that distinguishes one city from another is how long it's been on the map. And how scarse the map resources are they hardly make much of a difference. Granted I'm not too far into the game atm, so maybe the cities get more interesting as the game progresses.
I am a little confused about how cities work. The tutorial is pretty lacking on that point. When you hover over the "settle" button it shows the grain and materials production of each tile...but does you city only ever get to work the tile it's build on? That's how it seems, but that doesn't really make any sense...like at all.
If you open your goverment tab there is an enchantment page. This is a list of all active enchantments. Off to the side of each of those should be a "dispel" button.
This may be a glitch. In that second game I leveled up twice in one battle (from level 1 to 3) and I didn't get to select my path. I loaded to an earlier save, then did a smaller scale battle where I only leveled up one time and I got to select my path.
So....what level do you select your path? In one game I started I got to select my path at level two, but not in my current game. What gives?
hmm, ok. It doesn't always say human, but I haven't been able to get it to be the correct race
Hello. I think this may be a glitch. When you make a custom sovereign, their appearance changes based on the race of the faction they are selected to lead. However when you get into a game their race always says human. Anyone else notice this?
Never mind. It appears that certain races are exclusive to Empire or Kingdom factions. Which makes sense, and I think it was the same way in EWOM , so most likely not a glitch.
Not sure if this is a glitch, or by intention, but when you go to make a custom race, not all of the races are available. Trog and Quendar are both not available. There may be others, not sure. Anyone else notice this?
what the fuck are you talking about? why you NEVER EVER played a online game and start telling about things you have no idea how they works? civ was the SAME IDENTICAL GAME, only difference in gameplay was the turn chance to make all players move at the same time to make games faster, it was just an option anyway apart from that the game was the same, and multi was crap as hell, with no care at all from d
I'm Not sure how I feel about no multiplayer. Though I don't really mind since most of my friend aren't in to TBS games, this is going to turn alot of people off. Specifically, reviewers. One of the only complaints about GalCiv2 after everything was said and done was that there was no multiplayer, and I think reviewers are going to remember that and you might get racked over the coals for that one. Not sure if that matters too much, and I'm sure you've thought about it, bu
This looks really awesome. I also felt that in WOM the only real difference between factions was aesthetics. It's nice to see that this has been addressed and it looks like this will add alot of flavor to the game. I disagree with people saying that the "unique" units aren't really unique. Technically yes, that is true, you can recreate any unit on your own, but the "unique" part about them is the flavor they provide to the different factions. It allows each faction to have a deeper i
Re ganging up: It's the same thing we had in GalCiv. If a player is going on a rampage, the other players will notice and either suck up to you if they think that'll work (join you) or try to get strength in numbers to resist you. Same thing happens if it were someone else. It's not like Civ or whatever where everyone just hates whoever is winning. If you're playing a FFA game and one guy is k
I just have a few things to say, this is going to be kind of long winded.
A lot of the backlash of MOO3 wasn't just that it had a rocky launch but because it was so different from MOO2. And while "Internet people" will remember WOM's launch problems, the vast bulk of units sold were sold long after its problems were resolved and have no idea that there was ever a problem at the launch.
Oh God,
I haven't bought anything off impulse since gamestop got control of it. IMO they are one of the worst companies out there, and I hated to see impulse go to them. As far as Stardock coming out with a new direct download service, I would be surprised if gamestop lets them. At any rate, there are already too many service out there for digital downloads. Steam ftw.
Yes, I am liking the sound of all this. So is absorbing alot of souls a strategy you could pursue, to make an incredibly powerful sovereign, or is it more just a way to get rid of no longer needed champions. I guess what I'm asking is does it make a noticeable impact on your sovereign?
Ok, so I saw a report saying you guys sold impulse to gamestop...I have a bad feeling about this. Anyway, anyone from stardock mind explaining how this will affect your company and they games Stardock puts out?
Hello all. I went away from elemental shortly after realease, and am just coming back to give it another shot. One thing that is confusing me right now is that your character no longer has essence. Has this been abandoned as a concept? And if so...why? It was an important game concept and a central idea for the game to start with.
Also, make sure you are not modding the original files, but instead making a mod file and putting in the mod directory. I think they pre-loaded the xml, and if they don't see a new file to load, it will assume the existing xml is the same (could be wrong on this, but it might also be contributing to the problem).
Thanks much, this must be the problem then....and to the other people, no I wasn't using a gam
nah, I mean I've been closing the whole program out, and starting it up again. This is quite strange. Starting from impulse or from the directory has no change either.
lol, even if I delete the CoreRaceConfig file it doesn't effect anything....wtf
well, I'm copying them directly from another race, and pasting them in a different one...and I have been restarting my game.
I was changing some of the factions abilities around. The changes I make in the file have no effect on the game apparently though...doesn't really make sence
Hey, I was wondering how to make changes to the basic factions. I've edited their config in the CoreRaceConfig file...but none of those changes seem to effect anything...
