I have to admit that I was getting really discouraged about my ability to even play this game when .804 came along and I couldn't even launch the game. Then .90 came out and I could play again without disabling my sound card, I found that one out around .806. I am officially extremely excited about this project again. There are still some graphics issues to resolve, but I have every confidence that the good people at Stardock can do it!!!
kapeman
That is a relief. Thanks!!!
I didn't see the white screen issues on Kryo's round up page and was wondering if they are being addressed. There are two; on the main map and on the tactical map.
I'm having the same exact problem; it whites out portraits, maps, etc.. Problem fixes when advanced lighting is unchecked. My specs are: Intel core duo 2 6300 @ 1.86ghz 2gb ram windows 7 ultimate 32-bit Nvidia GeForce 7950 GT, latest drivers as of today
I have the same issue with AA and advanced lighting disabled or not. </p
Quoting kapeman, reply 2I have seen the same issue. One thing I noticed is that the autosaves will load, just not the named same game files. i didn't have any success with the auto saves either, but i only tried once.
After I made that post I had problems with both named and auto save games. It really seems to be hit or miss.
Title say it I can not do any tactical battles it seems. All I see is white fog. I got no clue of what is on the board. Nothing much to say but white fog. 9800 GX2Nvidia.
You are not alone.
I think I have noticed a memory leak. At start up everything runs properly and memory usage is around 650,000k. After a few turns, the game bogs down severely and the memory usage is around 875,000k. Exiting and reloading the save fixes the issue. Update: the last game the memory usages was at 988,000k.
Weird stuff, because this isn't working for me. I skipped the intro since I updated to the new version, and I had lot of save/reload problems. Some saves just won't reload even after 5 tries...and in some cases the game was locked-up as well. I reported these of course.
My luck has been hit or miss with this setting disabled as well. Although, I haven't created a new named save game since I changed it.

While .90 is a great improvement (thanks for the late night, guys!) there are still some graphics issues that remain. - The white screen at any zoom level below the cloth map is still present - The tactical map has the same white screen issue - The character portraits in the unit design screen and when the unit is selected are just outlines The issues were present with the default values and with AA and all other graphics options disabled. <
I have the same issue in the versions since .802. I have an older MS optical scroll-wheel mouse with audible clicks when using the scroll wheel. Earlier versions were more responsive to the mouse wheel.

Hopefulling they will fix it soon. You can't hear it but you can play it.
That worked for me when nothing else would. I am still having serious graphics issues, but I am sure they will be addressed. I miss .802 when I could pl
kapeman, I also had white screen issues that appeared to be caused by the AA, as when I turned it off I COULD see things in the game. harpo
Thanks, but as I noted all video options are disabled, including the AA options. Prior to version .803 disabling AA worked for me as well.
Plamski83, did you try disabling your soundcard? That's worked for some people. We're in touch with the Miles Sound System developers trying to figure out the problem.
Thanks, CariElf!!! That worked for me as well. I still have other issues, but t
UPDATE: Thanks to the advice of CariElf, I disabled my sound card and now I can get the game to launch. However, the white screen issue at any zoom level below the cloth map still exists. I have disabled all video options. This behavior started in version .803.
Hello everybody! I know I'm probably just repeating what somebody else has posted, but I'm having crash issues at startup... It gets stuck at the splash screen forever... sometimes when I alt-tab out and back again, I get a yellow screen and a sound effect like a hiccupping pig begins looping... Sometimes I can get past it by double clicking or by pressing esc, but even when I do make it to the menu, it's unbearably slow... I've been waiting since

See the following thread: https://forums.elementalgame.com/386235/page/1/#2678526 The symptoms are the same as the previous post.

I am on version .806 now after another clean install. Also, please note I am NOT running a software firewall and the game ran perfectly on version .802. &nb
CPU goes to 99 percent, but oddly enough, the memory usage seems low, around 44K I had this same problem in .804. Also .803, I could only see the cloth map, any zoom level below showed the solid white screen even with AA turned off. I tried running in full-screen and windowed mode. One thing I have never noticed before was the dxatlaswin.exe service ran for a while. I found this thread that referenced the service: <a href="http
Understood. I created the thread as soon as I had done the update and some initial troubleshooting, which pushed creating the post into Friday. Thanks for the response! It can be difficult without a post to know if a bug report thread has been seen by the devs.
Yes, I have seen it, but thanks for sharing. I don't see my particular issue listed, but I do see the issue I had from .803 on there.
A similar video card overheating problem occurred early on in Gal Civ2 and they fixed it in a patch. This sounds like the same thing.
I assume we can't contact Tech Support for beta issues. So, short of a mod/dev posting in your thread, how do you know if your issue was noted/reported? Should I just wait for the next build and hope I can launch the game then? Thanks
Good idea. I see several posts about the same thing and other posts that report a bug from an older version that may get ignored because the thread title lists the old version number.
