[.806][Hang/Crash] Can't get past splash screen UPDATED

UPDATE:

Thanks to the advice of CariElf, I disabled my sound card and now I can get the game to launch.

 

However, the white screen issue at any zoom level below the cloth map still exists.

 

I have disabled all video options. This behavior started in version .803.

 

ALSO: I cannot get the game to launch in fullscreen mode. I have changed the settings on the options menu, edited the prefs file and even deleted it to no avail.

 

ALSO: When I exit the game the elemental.exe pegs the CPU at 99% and will not close down. I have let it run for at least 5 minutes and had to manually stop the process.

kapeman, I also had white screen issues that appeared to be caused by the AA, as when I turned it off I COULD see things in the game.

Thanks, but as I noted all video options are disabled, including the AA options.

 

Prior to version .803 disabling AA worked for me as well.
