Also, are things working as intended in that you don't get the weapons that monsters are wielding when you defeat them? I just killed a coal golem and didn't get it's awesome pyre brand.

Yup, that was it, stinking mud. Kind of the go-to spell for battling big bads to slow them down. Thanks! I'll take a look at those files Primal and see what can be seen. Thanks for pointing me in the right directions.
There used to be a spell that would let you create these large areas of mud to slow down opponents. What is that spell called, and where is it? I can't seem to find it anywhere. After you clear a wildlands, you can build a monument that gives you shards on something. What file controls what that shard is, and how many shards it would be (I'm looking at doing some modding)? Thanks folks!
Just want to add my thanks to those of emmagine. Thanks guys!
Only change I personally make is to remove level limits from all items. If I'm powerful enough to defeat something and get an item, I darn sure want to immediately be able to use it. I then use the snaking mod and the bridge mod.
What about a hall-of-fame building that a town can build? Then heroes can donate their trophies to it and the town gets added bonuses - gildar and decreased unrest perhaps? Maybe it could be time-limited so that a hero has to keep donating.
That's an absolutely fantastic idea! Get a magic item from a quest or lair or something and have an option to donate it to your Hall of Heroes.
Nope, both are still in the game. Just been unlucky I guess. There is also a quest where you answer a riddle and then twilight bees appear.
Conquered the Shadow wildlands and just walked into the undefended city of Deorcnysse and received the message in the title: "You have conquered the wildlands string not found of Deorcnysse." Wildlands did successfully get converted though.
It doesn't give you an extra spellbook if you kill off one of your heroes that has that school. For example, I have 2 water and I choose another hero with 1 water as the target. The target dies, but my sovereign doesn't gain anything.
I've had the same issue.
When I start Legendary Heroes the text is all blocky, and the game is running in full-screen, but it's in a box in the top left part of my screen, maybe 1/4 of my total screen resolution. The mouse pointer isn't lined up properly either, I have to try to guess where the text would be if the display was expanded across my entire screen and move the mouse around blindly. I assume it has something to do with me having a DPI of 150% for text (older I get the more I have to play with DPI f
It doesn't exist. Whatever they changed seems to be hardcoded. There are no simple workarounds to fix.
You really have to race to get to the technologies to build wonders if you want to build them because it seems that as soon as another faction STARTS to build one, you can't start one too. It isn't a race to see who finishes, but a race to see who starts. I wish it was the later. The former is kind of a bummer. Doesn't seem to be any simple way to mod that out either.
That's awesome. Never found one of those in my games.
Yeah, I'm stumped. Hoping one of our master modders figures this out.
Cleared the Plaguelands and every monster monster lair. Killed all monsters within 15 or so squares of the plaguelands, The zone still isn't showing as cleared and the quest is still there. It's been 5 turns since I killed the last monster there. Yes, I did reload during the clearing of the quest. I read in another thread that someone suspected that if you reloaded ruing a Wildland quest it could bug the quest.
Is there a more elegant way to mod this than changing CoreImprovements.xml and adding more preferred terrains and then self-limiting? I assume there has to be a switch in some file someplace that prevents you from building lumber yards and harbors and such unless your city is right next to them.
I didn't play the last few betas, but are we not supposed to be able to snake improvements to rivers so that we can build harbors and stuff? Because I can't do it in 1.0.
I agree with seanw3. I pretty much only build towns and conclaves.
Mantle of Oceans is the only reason I take water. Blizzard is nice. The rest of Water pretty much is useless.
The tier 5 spells suck. Tier 4 is below average. Mantle of Fire is okay cast on a melee champion. The summon fire elemental spell isn't very useful by the time you get it. Focus + Flame Dart is useful the entire game. Fireball is also pretty useful.
They also disappear completely if you control-N to create a new world enough times. Will also disappear if you save-scum too many times in a row.
I was able to make some quick and dirty changes to the CoreImprovements.xml to remove all the building restrictions on the pier and logging camp line of improvements, and allow them to be built anywhere at all. At least they can be used on an honor system once you've snaked to the appropriate terrain.... or you can cheat like a mofo and place them anywhere regardless of terrain. But it's better than never being able to use
I like the new leveling speed. If they wanted to add a slider so that people could level slower if they wished that would be fine too.
Same issue with .952 for me, which is bizarre because I distinctly remember snaking to reach a river in .950, and thought I'd done it in .951 too.
