I tamed a cave bear, the exit screen showed I received 36 XP, but my sovereign didn't actually gain any XP. The Crow Demon that was with me was shown gaining XP too in the exit screen, and he didn't gain any XP either. It was incredibly dangerous and that Cave Bear knocked me down to 2 hit points, so getting no XP was kind of a drag.

I haven't gotten to late game either. I love the early game so much and as the game continues it turns into a boring slog. I just start over when it reaches that point.

I enjoy it. Cave Bears are awesome, so are Umberdroths, Harridans, and Corpse Spiders. I love finding that rat hunting quest because I know I'm going to have a chance to tame a Corpse Spider.

Since updating to .951 the tooltips in tactical combat that show how much mana a spell will cost are no longer accurate. It just shows the base amount of mana, regardless of Way of the Mage of Mantle of Oceans or Mage Robes. When you actually cast the spell, the game seems to take the proper calculations into effect though.

Windows 7, 64 bit Pro. nVidia GeForce GTX 690 video card (my drivers are up to date). It takes approximately 20 seconds from clicking the save button to bring up the menu box to save a game, and approximately the same amount of time to bring up the menu box to load a game. Actually saving and loading takes the same amount of time from the 0.95. This is on a fresh install of the game with no mods and not using a custom sovereign. Can quick-save with absolutely

I think you're super awesome Kongdej with your activity on here, so it's with regret that I have to say I disagree with all of your points. I want powerful city enchants. I want to seriously boost my research or growth or mana or whatever. I love the exponential growth with more essence. Give me MOAR power! I want a game about magic that feels truly magical.
Quoting malichai11, reply 46Frogboy, what about fixing spells that don't have their power increased when you gain more shards so that you don't have to cancel spells and recast them when you gain more shards? If it's not in the change log, it probably wasn't addressed yet. There's a long list of things still to fix. A LONG list.
Thank you.

I've killed Forest Drakes by the dozens, but I have never, ever seen a Forest Drake resource appear on the map that I can then use to build Forest Drakes. I remember building this in a previous Beta. Is it no longer available? If it is available, is it only available to the Empire? (I've only been playing Kingdom). Is there a tech required to get the camp to show up?

I found the file and I think it is simply an issue of Gold and Ancient Temples being more rare than those other things. I made Gold and Ancient Temples as common as Wargs but not as common as Iron and Horses and they now show up more. I started a couple games and did some exploring and actually found 1 of each in both games, which is what I was looking for.

The other mods I've done have involved making bigger maps and removing level requirements for weapons/armor, and that was just modding files and dropping them in the mod folder. Apparently to modify these temples I had to turn on the localdataonly switch and modifying the file inside the Fallen Enchantress folder itself. So yeah, it works just as I suspected, modifying that value. Awesome!

Yeah, that was my bad. So I've tried to mod it to actually have temples provide 2 fire shards instead of 1 fireshard. To start, all I changed was the Value after firemana from 1 to 2. That causes every single building in the game to go crazy. Just 1 number in 1 file. Now, every building has double its effects, and every building shows up twice in the research guide. I'm baffled. It started as this: <G

The Level 5 Fire spells are a real bummer, so much so that I'll no longer ever choose that as a level-up. Let me summon a giant fire elemental that shoots fireballs out of it's eyeballs or something, or an improved version of Fireball that doesn't have downtime, or a massive firecage that goes around an opponent that keeps them from moving and fries them every turn, or summoning a flaming nightmare mount that boosts my movement by 2 and breaths fire.

So I'm playing all my maps with Dense Resources and Dense Magic, but there are resources I'm seeing almost never. In 10 games I think I've seen 1 gold deposit and only 2 Ancient Temples that produce mana. Didn't there also used to be a resource that added research? Never seen one in 0.95 if they even still exist. There are tons of Scenic Views and lots of iron, horses, and wargs though. Is everyone else seeing the same thing on Dense Resource setting?

Well that's a bummer. I'd read in another post about the temples increasing your shard power, so I excitedly started another game and pursued a line of technology that I'd never used before. Those are some seriously expensive buildings for a bit more mana. By the time you can get them, I'm swimming in so much mana that I don't really need the increase, but I could sure use a boost to my shards. I suppose it would be easy enough to mod by just changing that value after the

I checked a unit that has a Burning Blade spell on it and it is only adding 10 damage with 4 fire shards plus a fire temple, it should be 12 (the spell is 2 + 2 per fire shard), so there's no virtual fire shard thing that's being added. I went and looked at CoreImprovements.xml and compared the Fire Temple to Ereog's Tower (which DOES provide +1 air power), and it should work, the only difference is that Ereog's Tower has <UpgradeComparis

So I built a Fire Temple and a Life Temple (ie, the 3rd shrine upgrade) and your shard amounts don't change and I'm not sure how to figure out whether there's a "virtual" shard bonus you're getting with these buildings. The info over the items seem to indicate you'll get an extra shard out of these temples.

It's all in the title. Cleared out the scrapyards and searched all around them for wandering monsters and found none. So far in 8 games the only place I've actually been able to clear and settle is the Arctic Wasteland. The twisted wildlands or whatever they're called haven't reverted in 3 different games I've played. Now I can add the Scrapyard to non-convertible. Kind of a bummer.
Do the monsters even attack the AI at all? I like to play on Dense as well, but on that setting my Scouts can hardly get 5 tiles away from the town before they're mauled. The AI's scouts just run around willy-nilly without a care in the world. I will also some upon AI outposts and cities with very powerful critters just hanging out within the area of influence like it's no big deal, whereas if it was my outpost they would turn it into

With how slow leveling heroes is if they travel together, it seems you need to send out them out in packs of regular heroes. Even with dense level of monsters, I can't seem to level up more than 2 heroes to level 9. How are other people getting packs of 4-5 heroes up to level 9? In my experience over a handful of games, it seems it is really only useful to have a couple/three heroes.
