I also have killed him. Unfortunately, I was unable to clear the Wildlands for whatever reason, so it didn't end up mattering.

I agree. The wall you hit at level 9 is pretty much close to the end of the game (for me).
I killed the big bad king of the arctic wasteland last night and got an awesome sword. I was pretty excited until I realized I couldn't use it for 6 more levels (which means I won't be using this weapon ever). That isn't fun at ALL. If we kill a monster, please let us loot it and use the loot.
I've played 4 games for about 5 hours each and I've never found more than 1 level 1 hero that could be recruited.
I vaguely remember this being an issue in an earlier Beta too, but I've cleared the Wildlands, been over it square by square, killed the big huge monster at the end (only getting a stupid silver goblet, but that's not the issue) and there is still an ownership border around it. I've been hunting around the edges for any monsters that might've wandered out and I don't see any.
What is it supposed to yield when you kill an unclaimed enemy champion? *edit - And in Beta 4, all factions are supposed to be able to build drake camps, correct?
I killed a Forest Drake that had been sitting on his little camp for 50 some-odd turns after finally building up tough enough forces to conquer him. I was all excited about building a camp and recruiting my own drakes but there was no camp there.
Looks like it can easily be done enough Mana and creating land bridges with the raise land spell.
I haven't played since the first or second beta, but I've now completely conquered a continent, and I have no idea how to cross to the other continents. I don't remember ocean crossing being a thing before.
I would pay a $10 for a DLC that had flying units. I would not pay $1 for mulltiplayer.
Unless you don't have the money/resources/materials to build it. If it didn't cost anything at all to build, then yeah, I could see doing that.
It takes money to build resource collecting buildings? I had no idea. I thought it was just time.
During the game above where my game went bonkers, I did a bunch of saving/reloading. I recently played a game through to turn 140 without ever reloading, except after exiting the game completely and I've had no stability problems whatsoever. No crashes, no corrupted graphics, nothing.
The pioneer spam basically means you can hook up every single resource anywhere close to you. It was kind of fun the first time, especially since the AI doesn't use the same tactic. Once the AI has it figured out though, the entire maps are going to be covered with outposts and that's going to look ridiculous. I really wish there was a way to curtail the city spam.
It's really irritating that when you do auto-resolve on combat, the focus immediately switches to another group. Even if the auto-resolve group has movement left. Is this just part of the UI, or is there an option that can be checked to change this?
You're definitely going to want to be storing mana. As in, >1000 mana before you get into a war. It's important to remember that we haven't even added in the unique champion spells yet or world spells.
Yeah, there has to be a level 5 Life Spell to bring on Torin. :) I actually thought that was already in the game for some reason, and was bummed out when I recently got a Lev
I've stopped using the quick-save feature because I was getting so many corrupted save game files this way. Here is one: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8403985/QuickSave.EleSav
I can confirm the corrupted quick-saves. I no longer even use quick-saves because of how often they corrupt. For the rest of your issues, I notice a massive difference in performance in games where I save/reload often, and games where I never load a game except after completely exiting. Is that relevant to your situation? Then again, the game runs like butter on my rig, so it sounds like you have some built-in problems.
Sorry, I have no example, but when my heroes are riding Wargs and getting Growthed, they shrink. Haven't tried it with horses.
Yeah, that's one crazy save game. It loads up on my computer, but I only get a small section of the map with no units or terrain.
Is it remotely relevant that when starting a new game and checking my processes FE takes up 656K of memory, but when loading up this specific save game, FE takes up 1,500K?
I had an Out of Memory Error crash just a bit ago. My game had been getting more and more sluggish as I saved it every turn, and crashed once on an attempted load. So, I rebooted my computer, started the game up again with almost nothing else running in the background, and got an Out of Memory Error crash within 5 minutes. Ouch.
There was a bug, not sure if it's there in 0.77, but a customized pioneer unit from a previous game, trained in a new game, can't build cities or outposts, but can build roads.
Yeah, and that unit causes big headaches for AI, because they build them and send them out and they just bumble around, unable to build or do anything.
I strongly disagree. The entire bad-ass champion thing is my favorite part of the game.
I think they're off to a good start, and all jokes aside, I wish that I was playing the 2013 version of FE right this moment.
A year from now, after taking in all of this input from the beta test, Derek and Brad decided to listen to everyone. First step was reigning in heroes, so now they start with 1 Hit Point and get 0.10 hit points per level. Also, to combat the stacks of doom, if any of your heroes lands on a square with another one of your heroes, they must immediately fight to the death. Magic was overpowered, so all damage causing spells were changed to doing 1 point of damage. <p
