Great post. I think it's great that your kids are exposed to the political process at a young age. I like that they have a naive, simple understanding of the issues, but are learning about how it works and learning how to choose between candadates. It's hard to deal with several shocks the system at once. It's bad enough that you ere hurt by a close friend, but then to immediately deal with the opposite....well, I know it's got to be hard. Make peace with yourself by doing the best you can to appologize and right the wrong. Oh and on the medicine comments.....I had a good friend who told me to put sugar water or juice in the medicine syringe when my son was little.....he's never sure if he will get something yummy or something bitter, so he still opens up without a complaint. I reenforce it occasionally by giving extra doses of sweet in between the nasty meds.....It works...

I think the issue is that people are judging this based off of a lack of information. Obviously violent or dangerours behavior would require the removal of any child until the matter could be resolved. However we don't KNOW exactly what happened.
