Noticing that I actually ran out of things to build today. My suggestion: costs, building time, and lethalty of regular units needs to be increased. Unsure what to do about buildings.

Don't knock mage chars. Growth+archers= death, and doesn't take a whole lot of research to pull off. There's probably a lot of other nasty combos out there. The only thing lacking in magic is raw pew pew type stuff, which should be added to the end of the trees down the road hopefully.
I was able to play the game fully bug-free for one full hour. After one hour of play- RAM used never got over 1GB, so no massive memory leaks. (peaked at 930MB) Biggest issue: Titan's Breath needs to be sped up. It's like the old Mounted Units from WOM issue. This may not be helpful, but it's positive performance feedback.
I got some, I couldn't use them in battle. Saw someone else complain about this on another forum as well. Unsure if this qualifies as a bug, but something that might be looked into.
Massive improvements, and the core of a great game is here, but still plenty of work to do, but it's work with a light at the end of the tunnel if things are handled correctly. I don't see the fundamental flaws that were in WOM.
This is to list options you wish for: Initial list: Windowed mode, didn't see an option for it Option to be able to move the map with edge scrolling Tough difficulty level: AI uses full features but no economic bonuses. Randomize AI opponents option For a popup to appear and game to be paused when you've constructed/trained something, like in Civ4.
3 hours as of now. Provided I'm in, still no email. Edit: looks like we don't get the email if you bought after August but still pre-ordered.
Also, the media in the US is sensationalizing this right now due to SOPA. They really don't want to report on SOPA, so they're trying to distract people with this. CBS was particularly blatant about this last night.
Abandoning ship like that is actually a crime. Also, if he was responsible for the wreck via his own actions- then he's guilty of multiple manslaughters, and deserves 20-30 years.
I got Thursday, September 17, 2009 order date. Not bad Havent gotten my email though. Waiting tfor the right batch
I have the exact same date, so apparently they haven't gotten to us yet. Judging from that email, we won't need the email to get the beta, but a little reassurance wouldn't hurt.
Apparently they're still being staggered. The only folks I've heard getting emails were those with July/August pre-order dates. I pre-ordered in Sept go guessing I get mine tomorrow morning. I don't think you need the email to access the beta, but we won't know until 3pm tomorrow if that's true or not. If I see folks with later dates getting emails, I'll stop being patient.
There is an insanely large amount of emails that have to go out, and it takes quite a bit of time for them to process. There are batches going out and if you haven't received an e-mail yet, just be patient.
If you don't get an email, but did pre-order, will you get beta access the same time as everyone else, or is the disease I'm getting Stardocklostmyinfoitis? ^_^
Same, haven't gotten mine yet either.
There will be NO multiplayer .The release game won’t have it either. We may bring it back in some future expansion but no promises because rewriting tactical is a non-trivial endeavor. you cant seriously mean FE wont have multiplayer once it comes out of beta, right? I mean, the main reason to play a MoM "spiritual succesor" instead of the real MoM is to
Haohshokens > Hadokens Sorry, couldn't resist. ^_^
Curious and unrelated- does jettisoning DX9 mean that 64-bit capable OS's will be required to play future Stardock games? If so, and you go 64-bit, that's great news for the future. One suggestion on tech tree: maybe give Kraxis the ability to use horses but not wargs, or allow them to use both. Maybe give one of the kingdom factions (Tarth most likely) the ability to use wargs perhaps?
The thing is, if this fails, they'll try again and keep trying- folks have to stay vigilant and militant on this. The megacorps only have to win once, the citizenry has to win every time.
So no discounts or free games for me then. I never owned WoM. edit: Thank you very much Alstein for comprehensive answer. Correct me if I'm wrong: I will have possibility to activate, continuously patch, and play FE on two PCs (edit: without active internet connection, except for patching, which can be done manually). (If Stardock keeps their old DRM policy.) It would be great, since I will be possibly buying a n
DRM will be this (unless Stardock changes policy) You activate it online on install- and patches require serial verification. Activation will be manual is done via website, automatic if done with Stardock Central (or Impulse/Steam). You can activate on any many machines as you wish. No DRM on launching the game itself. If you buy a Stardock game via disk (though this is download only)- there is no activation for install.
Everything Stardock does has an online activation for install and patch, but not to use. You have to enter it in manually if you download via web client, my guess is SDC when it finally comes out will do it automatically the way Impulse did.
Had the same problem, I just invested in a cooling fan on the bottom of the laptop- problem solved.
I think it's best to go for the throat here and try to get something solid that won't allow corporate welfare to Hollywood and big media. I'm all for protecting IP rights, but not on the backs of civil liberties and the innocent.
I'm worried about the AI given the ultra-complex nature of fantasy strat games. Making an AI for GalCiv is probably a lot easier then an AI for a game such as FE. That's not a knock but the variables are very different and more numerous in FE because it's a more complex game militarily with all the spells and interacting statistics, not to mention tactical battles, which I'm suspecting will be pure hell to do sufficiently well enough.
If folks get the email, maybe they should post here, so folks who should be getting mails that aren't, can raise a stink if needbe- that's my real concern. I've kinda gone through most of my backlog of stuff recently, so I'm looking forward to trying this out next weekend.
The 19th, or beforehand? Have they already been sent out? Just concerned they'll accidentally end up in my spam folder.
