Enjoy those little ones! They grow up so fast.

You have post an insightful philosophy for a good marriage. If we could all learn not to go by our fickle feelings we could go through the day making wise choices that would keep our families intact and at peace. Congratulations on this your 11th anniversary. May you have many more.
Your posts make me laugh because of your great humor. It is sad because of the frustration you must feel. Thanks for these wonderful updates. Here is what one of my friends (A native Hawaiian now living in CA wrote about your last blog): "Interesting and funny. Save the stuff and maybe one day write a book. A lot of it sounds familiar as when I went to Vietnam. Incoming troop handling units just have too much going on and its mostly
Thanks a lot for saying all these great things about my son. I thank you for being his friend and for the prayers you say for him. I know that you enjoyed his latest blog from Kiwait. Please, God, don't let the incompetence of others cause harm to come to him or to any other soldier. He will come home safe and sound. God bless you, chip.
Thanks for this update. It will be forwarded to many, many people who want to know what is going on in your life. What a lot of frustration you are feeling. Take it easy. This is not your first encounter with incompetence. It is everywhere but I realize that you would hope not to find it with people who are meant to be facilitating the peace efforts. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Good post...You have the right idea.
In my last post, I presented how different our approach to life can be, depending on whether we are legalistic or if we are in a faith-filled relationship with God. Here are some more observations about these differences. 5. In a legalistic approach we are concerned with activity. In a relational approach we are caught up with identity.
You say, “I come from a very religious family . . . all my life I've gone to church and memorized verses and listened to long-winded prayers…etc.” Christianity is not meant to be “religious.” Most organized religions teach us to approach God from a “religious” or legalistic approach to God instead of the one that Jesus came to teach us: a relational approach. In a legalistic approach we are concerned with activity. In a relational ap
Great Post, Blue... Models we should be...but not to be put on a pedestal because we are all human. Young people can be so easily dissillusioned when a role model fails in some way, especially a parent. That is why I think that whenever we make mistakes big or small...we should let our children know it and see us when we take responsibity for our actions.
Knitter, Thanks for your comment. When I used the word abuse, I did not mean anything radical, like beatings, either emotional or physical. Noone has ever done that to me. But even if they had, forgiveness does not mean that a person will submit to being abused. Forgiveness is a spirit of the heart that does not wish evil on any person even those who have hurt us. Forgiveness releases our natural feelings of hatred, bitterness and resentment from t
No matter what happens to me each day, I have decided that I will always forgive. I have decided not to be offended by words, actions or what I might perceive to be abusive, insulting, rude or hurting. I may still feel hurt but work at staying in peace. Why do I do this? It is because I have been forgiven so much in my own life. Time and time again, my mou
It is so sad to lose one that is so loved. You have told your story beautifully. Thanks for sharing. It helps us your readers know how you have handled your loss. Loss is part and parcel of life here on earth. Coping with it takes strength that can be gleaned from the support of others who care about you. I care.
When Greywar was just a little lad of only a few years, I knew that he was destined to bring me a few tears. But there were more surprises, dreams and joys so pure Than I could ever envision as he grew up fast and sure. He married when he was yet too young and somewhat immature. He thought for sure their marriage would prosper and endure
Great love story! May you have many, many more years filled with that kind outgoing-outreaching love. That kind of love is contagious and will spread quickly to become epidemic. Bring it on!
Today I will begin to put down my thoughts about my son who will be leaving for Iraq tomorrow. I want to confess to my God that I have a great son who is His child. I dedicated him to God before he was born. I asked Michael, the Archangel to be his guide through life. I firmly believe that he is being watched by Michael the Archangel and by his guardian angel. <BR
There will always be incompetant, bitchy, jealous, evil, resentful people in every area of your life. It is a fact of life. How you react to them is your choice. I think you are making good choice. As you continue to do that, in the future those choices will become easier and easier to make and you will have developed great strength of character. Your future patients will appreciate that...for the most part...there will always be some that will be inco
One day at a time...just a little effort will pay off. You'll be glad you did. Courage!
Maybe this story has been flying around the internet for a long time but today is the first time I received it from a friend. It encouraged me. Maybe someone will read it and be encouraged to look outward to see where they might help to make some other person's world a little brighter. Have a great day! God loves you! Hospital Window A g
If any are having a hard time believing, it might be good to try this: How would your life be changed if you truly believed and grabbed hold of the story of Jesus? His story and his beliefs have made such a tremendous change in this world and will continue to do so. If you truly believed that God is good, faithful, merciful, forgiving, caring for you as if you were the only person left in this world. Would this kind of love make an impact on
Good post. I am a Christian and I have chosen the Catholic church as the place where I worship. The Word of God means so much to me as does the Eucharist. If you do a careful reading of Luke's story of the two disciples on the road to Emmaus your will find some great lessons on the power of the Word as it is meant to be applied to our live. It also contains the same Eucharistic gestures as Jesus offered at the Last Supper. These thou
Good for you. I pray that there are many more people like you out there that have these values and wise insights.
Definition: Legalism: excessive conformity to the law or to a religious or moral code. We all need to make lasting spiritual changes in our lives. We have two choices. Either we are going to try to get it from our own efforts or we get it from God’s grace. If we choose to do it by our efforts, we will try to make things happen by our ideas, our schemes, o
Surely we need to tell the truth...Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. Those who do reject him will not be saved. I only wished to emphasize the fact that once we accept Him,,, there is no danger that we will wind up suddenly being shut out of His kingdom. All need to accept Him... Only Jesus knows who does or does not. How they follow Him will depend our how nourished they are on His Word, how quickly or slowly they mature in their understa
The Scriptures are full of descriptions of Jesus’ compassion and love. It is a love that is all-inclusive. He reaches out to the so-called “outcasts” and those that others look upon as “unclean.” It is this kind of unconditional love he expects from all of us who claim Him as our Lord and Savior. Jesus tells us by way of John 5:20 “We also know that the Son of God has come and has given us discernment to know the one who is true.” If
Wanderer. Psalm 23 that you quoted is a mighty good one to keep in your mind no matter what circumstance we have to face each day. You had every right to react the way you did. Thank you again for giving us some insight into what life is like there for all of you who are protecting us. Please keep writing whatever you feel, see and think. You have great insights. I look forward to each of your posts. In case you may not remember all of the P
