Iceciro, Yes, there are literalist who think that every word is dictated by God even though many observant people can see that such a view is foolish. My method is: look for a message that will help me keep to my goals of life: Keep my eyes on Christ, stay in step with His way, and not look down my nose at people who have a different view of life than mine. We are all looking for meaning to our lives.

My, my, greywar, I am happy to see you are at it again. You are not the first reader of Gensis 1 to see the problems that this chaper and many other chapters offer. If you are looking for a perfect answer to all of these problems, you will be at it until the Second Coming. I have had grade school intelligent students ask me: How could the earth come before the sun? How could plants that live on photosynthesis grow before the sun appeared? The Bible is not a book of science that tells u

You may be tired but you sure have a great sense of humor.
I sit in awe of what you do. You have chosen life... and may you have it more abundantly!
Right on, Shovel heat! I gave you an insightful on your comment.
Jennifer1 I agree with you wholeheartedly. We need to take responsibility and as you say, "Put your energy into a more positive activity, and remain vigilant to prevent such horrors from happening again."
Yes, greywar, if one is a literalist who looks upon the Bible as inerrant in every word, I agree, that the Old Testament make out God to be an ogre who delights in punishing evildoers and who only loves one people, his chosen people. According to old theistic thinking all disasters are ascribed to a god out to punish evil doers and he wants to wipe out all enemies of "his people." Does anybody still believe these kinds of theories? Yes, I have
A few days ago, a nephew of mine sent me this email: “ My son, Jamie, sent me a DVD titled "United 93.” It’s a dramatized documentary, movie, about the high jacked plane that crashed in PA on Sept. 11, 2001. It should be required viewing in all schools, grades 8 and up. If you haven't seen it you should - regardless of politics. I was devastat
Hi! It has been a long time since I've been able to blog. I can't sit very long at my computer but now I am getting better. I loved your blog here and I will be back to read up on what I have missed in the long months I have been away. Your children are great looking and I am sure they are being raised so that their hearts will be gentle, kind and wise. Thanks for saying you will buy my book. I did the final proofing yesterday, so it sho
You are so welcome, son. I agree wholeheartedly with your conclusions. You may be sure that all the students that I ever had the privilege of teaching in the elementary schools always were required to learn the basic math skills. As a way of advertising my new book which will be available soon at Amazon. com called "Convent Life and Beyond," I am including a story from that book apropros to your article.: "A great youngster, Bobby, is oft
You were just a normal rebellious teenager to me. But, in your eyes, I am sure it all seemed unique. Keep blogging. MOM
Yes, he did and still resides there.
Just to let you know...greywar is still alive and well. As far as his addiction to blogging, it is my guess that he will be back to it when the spirit moves him. He does respond to phone calls if you happen to have his number. :-* Take care!
It is always good to hear of your good teaching methods and other things of interest in your life.
What good news! K will be delighted to have a pup to keep her company. She might prefer a cat. Hope you will be happy with new job when you land it.
I would be comfortable if you were there! I would venture to say that you have probably sinned sometime in your life. Sin is sin. We all deserve eternal death for our rebellion but Christ paid for our sins in full. We have all been declared not guilty if we accept Christ as our Savior. If you try to save yourself, you aren't going to succeed. The gap caused by sin is so great that it took the Son of God to pay the penalty. He did out of love. He loves
I am so sorry if I infringed on any of your rights. I will do better in the future. I love reading all the articles in the In Tourch magazine and I daily read the meditations at the end of the book. What a great teacher is Charles Stanley...and this is coming from what some people might call a staunch Catholic.
Well, congratulations! When did this happen? I mean about going back to school? I couldn't be happier. Study hard and no going to the mall with Charlie to play in the game rooms.
My I am so happy that I can quote you properly. Happy New Year to you and EL!
greywar, I am just practing how to insert quotes would never have thought about since WoW
Thanks for your great comments Tova7, HC and KFC. Tova7: For sure, whenever I get the time, I will delve into the book myself. HC: Your desire and thirst for the Lord cheered my heart. I know of what you speak. Another great book that I have read is Waking the Dead by John Eldredge. It speaks of the glory of a heart fully alive. Excellent reading. KFC: You said, "I'm sure you will enjoy visiting the Land of Narnia where goo
Tova7 Thanks for your insights. My granddaughter had her nose in the book before her mom's car was out of the parking lot. I am going to have to read it myself now and maybe even go to the movie or wait till it comes out on DVD.
My granddaughter had an early Christmas on Sunday. Among my gifts to her was the complete books of Narnia . She really expressed her excitement on that gift. (She is always so diplomatic...if I had put coal in her packages, she would have found something positive to say about it. ;) Her mother, xtine, told me there was more to the story than what mee
