I have tried it three times and I have not been able to finish it, because of bugs. I can't say as I didn't play the original campaign. This one is dramatically different because it involves building up ala a sand box game but with a series of adventures, quests, and events.
I personally feel like I paid for EOW and want to play that game, but its still broken, buggy and not fun. Having said that, it is much better now than it was on release. Still, there isn't much of a game manual and so forth and so on. So it's fair to ask when will it become fun, although I do realize that is an opinion. Still, there are people in the community that feel the way I do. It feels dead and many reasons why we feel this way we

People should try to keep in mind that as much as we love Elemental, it is a relatively small part of our overall company. Our games business is not what pays our bills. It's been Stardock Software (the enterprise group in particular). Even without Impulse, 2010 was a very good year for the company.
If becoming a retailer was not the intent, then why allow other developers to sell through it? If becoming a retailer was not the intent, then the only other logical reason would be so Impulse could be sold off.
Why does Stardock write its own forum software? Why does Stardock run a blogging site? Why does Stardock own Neowin.net? Why does Stardock make skinning software? We're a technology company. We like to make cool new tech. It's what we do. It'

But will the changes in later bits of WoM for the purpose of fixing the large-scale up also be true in Fallen Enchantress? Specifically, the decrease of health for trained units, and making the minimum unit size four soldiers instead of one?
Well, a better way to look at it is that War of Magic is going to evolve in its own direction with its changes

We teamed up with Gamestop because we share a similar vision on where digital distribution is doing. They've assembled a pretty amazing new unit over there to merge with Impulse.

Well, as you can imagine, we recently came into the ability to indulge our development team's fondest desires with Fallen Enchantress. Ironically, those who purchased War of Magic back last year may have gotten the best strategy game deal ever. :)

This is definitely very very good news for PC gamers. I don't know what some folks are thinking but I can't think of a piece of better news for PC gamers than for the world's largest gaming retailer to heavily invest in digitally distributing PC games worldwide.
Haven't read the debate on Amazon, but what do political views have to do with a book or game? Unless you run your company like a dictator, why would politics come into any discussion? Eh. I've worked for people across the political spectrum and never found it to be an issue when doing business. People are weird in their reviews. That is the flaw with the review system of many sites. You can have a group a reviews that have nothing to do with the product and they bring you down

Yea, personally the book's launch was both exciting and devastating. Exciting in the sense of having something I had worked on for so long being out there. But a little devastating that a handful of people from QuarterToThree decided to express their dislike for me personally on the <a h
you really want that... I mean the more troops on the board the more memory is being used for the game after all.
No, identical soldiers make no difference in memory. It's the different units that are the issue. Having a group of 100 "Knights" uses the same memory as 1 knight.
Quoting Frogboy, reply 18The blandess was a "feature" not a bug. I think you are going to regret using this formulation. The abstractness might have been a feature, and one that you may or may not, in hindsight, deem a poor idea. But blandness? No, that was a result of the (suboptimal) way that the abstractness was implemented. At least that is how I would like to interpret what you are saying. Just doesn't seem

There's going to be a 1.19j it appears this week. As new memory management techniques have been added, it has caused some crashes which had to be cleaned up.

The WOM launch would probably make a pretty good case of the effects of sleep deprivation. The week leading up to launch was a 129 hour week for me -- 3 all nighters that week according to my log.

The difference is how the games use the video card. For example, the outlining effect has no hit at all on some systems (like nVidia) but can cause up to a 50% slow down on others. It's also important to remember that Civilization V uses a fixed camera (you can't rotate it) which allows it to do lots of tricks to speed things up. Pretty ground textures are not a big performance hit. In Elemental, each unit is actually wearing shoes, shirt, hat, sleeves, glov
