Saying that WoM multiplayer "works" is like saying that a car missing the drivers side door "works". It's a technically accurate statement that leaves any customer who falls for it seething with rage. Quoting ZehDon, reply 8 And as for the OP, Stardock advertise the game as having a multiplayer component. It does. There is no "False Advertising" regardless of it's functionality in your particular situation.<b
Curious about something- would it have worked if you made the design and then made the engine fit the design?
It never works that way. Talk to someone who worked on Master of Orion 3. You have to have the engine and then you make the game for the engine. If you want to boil down WOM's teething problems into a very very simplistic summary it's that we thought we could make the engine to

The full SDE Unit 1 studio is already on FE. Me and my mini group go into specific projects to solve problems not as full time dedicated supplements. I'm trying to thin

I'm reading the threat. I have to do AI work on v1.3 because for FE I'm planning to handle the AI design for the tactical battles directly and it's better to "learn" the tactical battle AI code in WOM than FE. I just got back from Disney World with the family and we recently got a puppy (http://draginol.joeuser.com/article/408349/The_life_of_Bailey_8_weeks). I normally only get to do fun stuff like AI work in my off hours (until I can recruit more developers I can
Multiplayer works. Could you be specific about what doesn't work? Also, don't threaten lawsuits, that's asinine.
if the same criteria applied for WoM (you wanted that game to be awesome, you thought that game was awesome -- but despite of your efforts and intentions you were mistaken), how can you possibly believe that you can ensure that FE will be awesome?
Oh, I make no promises that FE will be awesome for you.
There was a long way to go from the last public beta to a workable and fun game. There was a rush to release WoM, regardless of whether it made a big difference to the final v1.0 release and months after, with the teething problems with the new engine and all. Anyway that is old news. My point was that it looks like the same mistake won't be made with FE, and that's good. Best regards, Steven.
</p

A few AI programmers. Yes. I've felt this for a while

Can you give a bit more detail? Performance is worse than before in what way? I find the drawing speed and end turn speed much faster in v1.2.
Well, I think that would be a good idea. But remember, even "rabid fans" (btw: that phrase has heavy negative connotations) did not think WoM was ready for release. I think you guys who play the betas have gotten a pretty good idea on the fundamental change in how our betas are done. Look how long was sat with v1.19 (over 2 months) before it finally was "good enough". Our games are going to slowly move more and more to the "Google" beta model where it's going to sit in beta for quite awhile, often with it seeming like it's "final" but it'll still be beta. The bottom line is, we require that our customers k

I've spent the last couple of days trying to wreck WOM v1.2. Each time there's been an RC, I take a shot at destroying it -- and have succeeded in doing so. Framerate is substantially faster. 2. End turn performance is substantially faster. 3. Memo
The requirement for FE is that it must be awesome. That will determine the release date on it. It is substantially different from WOM though. So far, quite a bit more like MOM than WOM was.
Thanks guys. Fast pass doesn't cost extra. Universal has something called express pass that does. We've now been to all 4 Disney parks. We don't have a car so our mobility is limited. Staying at the wilderness lodge which is on the propery . Boat ride to magic kingdom.
I need morale because I originally intended it as a way to force the player to attack the AI players. When it got removed, they changed the AI to just run out after the human players (to their death). I want to make the AI focus on getting to good strategic positions on the map if it has the morale advantage. The defender will tend to have the morale advantage.
If I have my way, WOM won't ever be finished or at least will be worked on until I can't compile it anymore (see my angst on tryign to do new builds of galCiv II). As much as I wish WOM had been a critical success, the fact it wasn't frees me to tinker with it without the same kind of crazy that would happen otherwise. In GalCiv, I hated the economic system but couldn't really change it because it has such a larger player base. WOM, by contrast, will ev
