In fact, it would be kind of interesting to see a unit pile on all kinds of horrible traits with the more deaths, the more mangled the unit becomes until you would just want to disband him.
Frogboy
I prefer some interesting traits. The system supports it so we don't have any reason to just hard code some number to the stats. There a "Clutz" trait which believe me means something (has a small random chance to hit an adjacent friendly unit in tactical combat).

There is no release date.
Heh. Anyone who does their research in the right type of threat to make has my respect!
I think Steam has been good, this isn't me Steam-bashing again. I think the issue is more a fundamental issue with supply in the PC Market. There are tons of games, and the shift to DD means you're not just competing with recent retail games, but the classics. This isn't Valve's fault, it's just the free market. I think this is what is causing the diff
Well my wording was a bit too strong but I stand by my comment that I would have never bought E:WoM without a promise of a fix through expansions and I would not buy it today (1.4 version). I would not even pirate it. It is still a boring game. And by saying FE will be the same does not bode well for FE then.
Indeed. It does not. You will almost certainly not like FE if you find WOM "boring" at this p

The word surreal comes to mind here... There is a reason there are few...very few indie PC games of significant scope being made anymore. It's very very difficult to make them. And it'
I'm not sure the best route yet. I just know that losing an army led by a champion in a quest is too damaging. I need to have a better idea of whether I should go on the quest or not.
Is this with v1.4?
BTW, my point is that with FE, Stardock has pulled out the stops. If it can't get FE right then it has no business making PC games anymore.
I'm loving BF3. I confess I hadn't ever played the first two so I really really suck. I only discovered what squads were in the past couple of days (was just randomly running around previously) and am still trying to map the controls to the way I like to play.
Frogboy - How about if we all promise not to make any posts until after the Holiday weekend if you let us have the Beta Wed night? (You'd probably have to block out Lord Xia). Seriously, this game is looking like you guys might make everyone forget the heartache of E:WOM.
:) Right now, the tactical battles need a lot of work. If it were just a strategic gam

I think I'll need an AI tag in the quest XML that defines how hard the quest is.
Of course, right now, I'm having trouble with the AI getting wiped out by quests. I liked it better when it just avoided them.
Oh, you guys don’t get them. There’s no UI for it presently. Waypoint DCL
LOL. Well, those pink space ponies aren't cheap.

Not a singular unit, that's part of the trick. They gather in small armies and merge later. Here's a tactical battle debug. I don't know how much time I'll get to work on tactical battles prior to the public beta but it's an area I'm very interested in since the strategic AI is starting to get to the point of diminishing returns. http://screencast.com/t/IBPVKwulBYHK
BTW, if you think WOM v1.4 is "worthless" I can tell you right now that you will find FE worthless too. So if that's really your opinion, you should go find a different game. Heroes VI is out and so is Sword of the Stars II, you might want to check them out.
I'm in Battlefield 3 mode (which I suck at). But I plan to get this during the holidays.
Thanksgiving can't come soon enough. I took Friday off so that's 4 days of FE Beta if you release Wednesday evening.
I said around Thanksgiving. Not before, my friend. In fact, I'm almost positive it'll be AFTER Thanksgiving since we have a 4 day weekend and no one wants to be managing the beta.
I agree with the others, it feels wrong somehow. Initially when I was frustrated with WoM I was like "Hell yeah I deserve free gamez!!1". But now, after following you guys through all the hard work, it feels like I'm stealing it... Make sure you add some DLC.
Thanks for your kind words. That said, I think it's important that FE be free to those who bought WOM early on because Star
Well, I hope that all features that don't make it into FE get into the 2nd FREE expansion that was promised to E:WoM buyers Things like factions being not all humanoid but like in Master of Magic
I never intended to have non-humanoid major factions. That would be like complaining that the factions in Game of Thrones are all humans or that all the races in Lord of the Rings are humanoids.
Will there be a user-friendly and integrated quest editor, and the ability to easily share and swap quests? This would be fantastic for the game's longevity and fun. Best regards, Steven.
No. I wish. Maybe someone could write one. It's just XML output.
