Or if this is not the case, should he have immediately fled the battle or not have entered it to start with?
He could have cast some powerful magical spells and blew them away. The beta is going to roll out similarly to how WOM was done. Around Thanksgiving (and it'll be after it because no one wants to be on beta babysit watch during the 4 day weekend) the first phase will go out which will be to people who joined the earliest of the WOM betas. Soon after, it will expand to everyone who was part of the WOM beta process. Soon after that, it'll expand to everyone who bought WOM by release. Then it'll be everyone who bought

I don't even get good cloth map mode though. Look closely at the units. No lighting or effects. Makes me eyes cry.

For me, it depends on the size of the game. If it's a LARGE sized game, I'll get it from Impulse pretty much no matter what because Impulse's download speeds are the fastest of any of them by a significant margin (i.e. on Battlefield 3 it would have taken another 2 hours to get it via Origin direct). If it's smaller, I'll go by price unless it is using Steamworks at which point, I will tend to pick Steam.
I thought taking on wild lands would be something you did more than maybe once per game. IIRC it was said there would be several wild land areas on a map, some of which you could take on early in the game, but others would have to be left alone until late game. Something else I've been wondering, when you conquer a wild lands, does it stay a distinct area, or does it convert into 'regular' grounds?
Depends on

In fact, you won't have to do anything. FE isn't one of those "free" offers where you have to jump through hoops. You just get it and we'll go out of our way to make sure you KNOW about it. It is very important to us that every single person who bought WOM in 2010 get FE.

Are they going to still be tied to Impulse or can we get Steam keys for them since they have yet to be released.
That deal is a Stardock direct thing so you'd get those updates from Stardock Central. Not Steam or Impulse.
My question is will every game have the exact same number of wildlands or will every game be different? For example, if there are only 5 wildland types, will every map (small, medium, or large) have exactly the same 5 wildland types or is it different than that?
It doesn't really work that way. It's more akin to there only being one type of Wildlands in a given game typically. I guess if the world size is large

Stardock titles are coming to Steam. However, your serial numbers are registered with wherever you bought them. You can't redirect them. That said, Sins Trinity is only $15 on Steam right now.

Actually I had already added a requirement to have a + and - button to the tactical combat screen to speed up the battles.

The worst part of this is that when it's all done, bloody humans are going to mess it all up. Can't you guys just be satisfied watching the AI fight each other? Why do people insist on interacting with it and doing crazy weird stuff? edit: btw, while doing the AI I'm constantly pointing out cheese to Derek because the AI does it first. For instance, outposts initially spread environment which made land tiles fertile. So the AI would build outposts and then ci

Jon and I have talked a lot about Civ V design stuff. I happen to think Civ V is a very well designed game. It's not a game that Stardock could have made. I would have vetoed the 1 unit per tile feature because we (Stardock) aren't capable of creating a path finding system that would prevent the turns from becoming ridiculously long and I wouldn't have been able to write an AI that would manage those units intelligently without it taking a very long time. When

There are lot of obvious solutions to these problems. FE is quite a bit different than other tile based games in that the world is really REALLY dangerous. It's not like Civ or WOM or what have you where there's an occasional threat. It's more like an obstacle course of threats. The world is out to kill you hard. And since I write the monster AI too, I am doing my best to make sure they're really good at killing stuff (without them being too unrealistic -- they
