It's also amazing how fast this has spread. Even my wife heard about it and she's not (sadly) a gamer.

One of the biggest changes to FE over anything I've worked on before is the sheer number of treaties. Rather than monkeying around endlessly with AI on "trading" I've instead put that time into coming up with treaties that players can have with one another. (and before anyone ask,
I'm on Kass City. Find me on there and we'll add you to our guild. I'm on as Talax.
The way it'll work is you'll be able to get FE directly from Stardock in one of two ways: (1) Use Stardock Central (the NEW one) which is really just a download manager, very streamlined. or (2) Go to http://download.stardock.com and download the installer. It'll use the same UserID and PW as you use on the forum here.
Good feedback and ideas here. I'll nix the hp bonus and setithe effect.
Amazing mod. Stickied.
Merry Christmas to you, Semaz!

What I am really eager for news on, simply due to the lack of discussion on it, is news around how individual units will get magical skills or buffs (fire swords, or the ability to cast heal a la priests, or fireballs, a la warlocks). Is such a capability in the cards?
Already in. We don't call them priests or warlocks th

BTW, I *am* working on FE AI at the same time. My wife objected to me taking my sons out of school. I'm on vacation this week but coding FE while they're at school and then playing with them when they get home.
It doesn't hurt (or help?) that I'm one of those Star Wars nuts who is into the EU lore to an unhealthy level. I prefer the Sith. ;)
Quoting Frogboy, reply 11I take my lore from Wookipedia as well as the various novels. Plus, when I was writing Destiny's Embers, my editors were the same editors of the Star Wars EU books and I got to hear a lot of lore from them. But basically, the Sith are certainly evil from the Jedi point of view. The Sith believe that civilizations grow and improve by competition and conflict. They are similar to "The shadows"
I've gotta say, that's some pretty interesting lore you came across. My knowledge of Star Wars only extends as far as the movies, so I've been put into a good vs evil mindset. Remember the third episode -- SPOILER ALERT -- in the final battle Anakin vs Obiwan where they made Anakin look really evil with blood red eyes? That's the thing, people rail about Steamworks without presenting an alternative. One of the things I regularly said (in this thread I think) is that Steamworks IS VERY GOOD and that the industry needs to provide alternatives. Impulse:

My Sith Marauder is leveling up nicely. Just hit level 19 before the downtime this evening.
BTW, anyone who thinks SWTOR is a kiddie game hasn't played it. If you're playing as a Sith, there is a lot of cold blooded murder, torture, and ruthlessness that is beyond anything hinted in the movies. Killing Younglings is par for the course if that be your thing.

Zealotry: I bought your product not because I wanted or needed it but to support a cause that I have assigned you to. That is what makes zealotry dangerous. When all our future games use Steamworks or are for PS3 or are console only or require a blood sample to use, you'll see people screaming in ways that have nothing to do with the game but because they "supported" us rather than buying a game because...they wanted that game.
