I might have something this evening for peple to play with. But bear in mind, these are unofficial builds off my home PC between playing XCOM.
What I'd do is tell you what I did and you tell me whatcha think. Tonight I'm playing with general performance. So I'd be looking for someone who finds the game to be slow.
Before I check in my code, I try to do a lot of testing. Sometimes my changes get thrown out because they may cause incompatibility. But if anyone is interested in playing with my personal builds which try things like new AI techniques, performance improvements but also probably some bugs, post here. DISCLAIMER: This is an unofficial build. This is built on my personal machine at home. Do not report "bugs" anywhere but in t
That's one thing. But regardless of the cause, it's something I"m very very interested in. This is my life now: http://screencast.com/t/ImejWXhsufq You guys play your so-called video game. This game I'm playing (the one in the screenshot) has it all. Graphs. Graphs. and more Graphs!

Thanks guys!

Well the AI doesn't get to complete quests automatically. They simulate the quest (rolling the dice) and they aren't allowed to go on tons of quests like you humans are! And they don't get to save games. What you're seeing is the tirene taking out a battleship roll. Blame old man Paxton for letting the AI go get dragons from quests or what have you. XML controls whether the AI is allowed to go on quests. I just take advantage of whatever cheese I can find. <
You humans get to have your cheese but my AI doesn't get to use cheese in return? You win this round, Cog, but one of these days. One of these days!
[quote who="Oderwat" reply="3" id="3258205"]I have defects with the landscape in parallels 8 / windows 7 / imac 27 (late 2009 / ATI Card based) in tactical and battle maps. Looks like the terrain is like 1 "grid" deeper suddenly and you can look "under the terrain". This happens in all maps always along one line but at kinda random places. I did not notice this at first as objects like streets, rivers, houses and so on are all at the right place. But when you move the camera you see they are

Thank you for the kind words. I'd be hard pressed to think of Fallen Enchantress at the same level as XCOM, Torchlight 2, Borderlands 2, Shogun 2, Diablo 3, Dishonored and many of the other excellent games that have come out this year. I'm glad you guys are liking it so much.
I'm hanging out on (or trying to anyway) on the Penny Arcade thread. http://forums.penny-arcade.com/discussion/168566/elemental-fallen-enchantress-stardock-does-your-mom-live-on-the-internet-right-now

I should have clarified. I liked the GamingOgre review; but it could be called into question somewhat, because of a (one-time) business relationship between Stardock and the gentleman behind GamingOgre. I intend no slur or slight; it was a good review, but i
I'm playing with Paralles using the max memory for DirectX and I run it where it runs at 1440x1050 or whatever the half resolution. What's the resolution like on yours?

Would anyone object if I just sticky this thread so we can consolidate here?
I was talking to a friend of mine who's a journalist about the difficulties of reviewing something like FE. Most games today (PC or console) are designed to last about 6 weeks total. That is, the average person should have gotten everything they're going to get by casually playing it 6 weeks (or 40 hours of game play). Anything beyond that is a waste of budget (in theory). My view is that this is an outdated way of doing things. Digital distribution means games c

No critic reviews shown yet. They should show median instead of average, would cut down on the influence of fan boys and trolls alike. Unfortunately, user game reviews aren't terribly informative. As someone pointed out, Diablo 3 has a user review rating on Metacritic o
I'm still trying to finish classic Ironman! It's a tough thing for the reviewers right now because there are so SO many games out. And let's face it, FE is a difficult game to review. There's a lot to it. It takes a lot of time. But I'd rather wait for a proper review than have a rushed one. This is a 4X game, it's not going anywhere. ;)
