Or will they be loading the old XML and using the new kernel? Or is the old XML converted to new XML? Basically... if I have the Ice Spellbook, will I get this new spell? If I have a Sion, will I

Suggestion: Given your processor, run the game with cloth-map only.
We are looking into it. Thanks to your report, we were able to assemble an XP SP3 + GTX 260 + running at at very high resolution. You can probably get around the issue by lowering your resolution. Basically, the nVidia drivers on XP don't support the unusual memory configuration of that card (900MB). If you ran the game at as 1280x1024 I think it would work.
There are city sieges and there are special units.
Still a bug. We either need to change it in the description OR let them level up.

Over the next 72 hours as thousands of people come into the forums looking for help we're looking to keep the signal to noise ratio somewhat under control. If you have a technical problem of some kind, go to the support forum and try to be as specific with your post title as possible. What we DO NOT w
Ah ok. My bad. the debug.err is listing the 17th instead of the 22nd.
Well for starters, update to the latest version that was put up yesterday.

Brad says that he "would be very surprised if the reviews of Elemental are negative". It'll depend on how big the changes are in the Day-0 patch. I can see reviewers having lots of issues with the lack of user feedback and other non-polished areas. <br /
I remember tales from CIV players about starting on 1-square islands... This couldn't happen in Civ IV however (well, on most map scripts anyway) because there's code to look up for a decent landmass to put the player on. Some might manage to get blocked by peaks though.
By Elemental IV I'm sure such issues will be addressed. :)
What is your anti-aliasing level set to?
The Maps. Are. Randomly Generated. 'The land masses are taken from seed files. We will add a lot more seeds in the coming weeks. And if you really. Really. REALLY want fractically generated land masses, you can go into the maps directory and delete the seed files. I don't recommend it though.

AHH, I see that makes sense from a programmatic stand point.
Yea, we ultimately decided that the continent formation worked out better if we could start with shapes and then randomize it from there.
Still pretty neat. A lot of flickering though.

Need to know more about your rig. Video card and that kind of thing.
Generally, no. We've done a lot of work to make sure that doesn't happen. Even my pre-gold save still works - albeit, with old data inside of it.
