I can't seem to find the original thread on this, but it was referred to here: https://forums.elementalgame.com/447944/page/1/
I've done a few playthroughs on Expert with this build, and I've enjoyed it a lot - very gimmicky and possibly overpowered, but unorthodox and fun. I thought I'd share some tips I've picked up and see if anyone else has some to share.
For faction traits, Lucky seems to be required, but anything else is probably optional. Master Scouts is super helpful, though, and Wanderlust for the unlimited XP and special swords is very nice.
Discipline and Brilliant seem to be required, plus Air Disciple. Aside from that, I've found that Hardy is really good, and Wealthy and Might could also be good. I usually take Scarred as a penalty. You can steal life back to heal, and in the late game, you're not taking damage, anyway.
For my first champion, I decide based on spellbooks, and I prioritize Water (research), Earth (Nature's Cloak, production), and Life (Courage and Regeneration), in that order.
For traits, the obvious thing to do seems to be to pick up the Dodge traits first. After that, I usually beeline Eviscerate, and then go back and pick up the armor-piercing traits. Crit is flashy and all, but in the early-mid game there seem to be a lot of high-armor enemies, many of which are crit-immune.
Late in the game (usually after picking up the crit traits), I've actually found Air III to be awesome, for Thunderstrike. Since crit applies to spells, and you have high Spell Mastery from Brilliant, and you want Air power for Evade anyway, it's fantastic for blasting lots of enemies, especially if they have high armor. Even if it didn't do any damage, it would still be pretty good, just because of the mobility. It's expensive, though. Alternatively, getting a Fire tome from Queen Porcupine for Burning Hands is another way to get do multiple-target damage more cheaply, if she's available.
Bleed looks crappy on paper but it can actually be really useful; apparently the damage isn't resistible (can't crit, though), and it works on everything, including Banshees and Obsidian Golems and Delin.
Anyone else tried this and have tips to share?
