[0.51 Bug] Items that give a spell when equipped aren't giving the spell.

Examples, the sword that you get when you defeat Vetrar - the Blizzard spell does not appear when equipped. And as reported by someone else, the Lightning Pike doesn't give Summon Air Elemental either. I think that any item that gives a spell is not giving the spell at the moment.

I can confirm that. Got a cloak that is supposed to give access to the "Blind" spell but doesn't.

I think this may be true for some of the items, not all. The one that gives fire bolt spell works fine for me, for example.

Maybe spells are affected, but not abilities. The fire bolt spell from the item has a cooldown and no mana cost, so I think it is an ability rather than a spell. The game still treats them slightly differently.

EDIT: Though that does not explain why the Blind from the Darkling Cloak doesn't work. I don't think that has a mana cost either...

I think some of the spell or ability giving items are just bugged in some way so they don't give the spell or ability.

Darkling Cloak works for me (keep in mind the blindness ability granted by the cloak shows up under skills, not spells since it doesnt cost mana). The Heart of the Glacier's Blizzard ability is broke though, it will be fixed in the next patch.

As mentioned above, some "spells" given by items are actually in the ability drop down box, not the spell drop down box. I had a whole list of 'bugs' and then stumbled upon this "other' drop down box. A note about this might help new players...
