[1.20] deorcnyse wildlands STILL not cleared after conquor of deorcnyse town and kill of all known darkling mobs near and in wildland

bug first showed up in 1.1

played a new game on wildlands map from the mapDLC, I had stared near the deorcnyse wildlands just above the scraplands, expanded to four towns, then decided to attempt to clear deorcynse with my sov, killed all the wildland mobs that I found in and near the wildlands including a heavy mob of darklings with a sharman and rider, then went to deorcnyse town and entered (note NO battle, no defenders) town switched to one of mine, but when I attempted to enter the shop in deorcynse I got the meassage that I could not enter shop in enemy territory ( this is after adding several units and buildings to the deorcnyse build queue so the build queues think I am on my territory, BUT the shop does not)

I suspect that the issue relates to the wandering boss mob of darklings not being in the town when the town is conquored

I am not an expert or anything, and maybe you have already figured this out.

When you look at unrest for the city does it have some +# from conquering it?

The City doesn't revert to your Faction until a certain number of turns have been completed {same as any other city you conquer}.

At that point, when City becomes under your control, you can go about your business...

Hope this helps, I ran in to same issue. I ran some troops in the City {which had no defenders} and waited for a while trying to figure out why the City was not letting me build or w/e...

later in the game when I checked the unrest it was 0%, and the wildlands STILL had not cleared, and in the pics above which were captured at the turn show that the town IS in my control, and had even rushed a troop and had queued up several troops and buildings beforeth pics.

Not sure what is going on then, but I remember the Area did at some point revert to my Faction, I don't think I defeated any of the darklings. I hate stuff like this. I don't mind if something is not doing what I expected if I know WHY?! {lol} This game has so much hidden/not provided info it gets frustrating...

This is the same problem I have had with this wildlands since I have played the game in beta. It's been reported a number of times. Do you have a save to give the devs? They need something to help them figure this one out.

I had even tried the save & close fe then load fe & load save trick that was reported in the past, but still did not convert, and have played on and the burning lands did convert, but I do not have a save at the time of capture of deorcnyse any more, and I was playing with stormworld and a few other mods as well on 1.2, so sd would probably blame the mods for the problem. I can start a game without the mods on the same map with just stock races and my usual custom race and my personal items mod and try to duplicate again

and I started another game on a different computer without mods other than my custom sov & race and my special items and the map DLC ( had deleted all content of the mods folder),played till I had cleared all the mobs from the shroud wildlands then approched deorcnyse, saved game, then attacked (no battle) just a walk in screen at capture of deorcynse

,(perhaps the town NEEDS to have some fixed location troops to defend it before it can switch off the wildlands), queued up two troops and 6 buildings(all that can fit around deorcynse), then saved again (unrest was 53%), moved sov out to kill wandering mobs leaving 1 hero and archers in town, ended turn, saved again, shroud wildlands STILL not cleared

I've experienced this bug and it really needs to be fixed. I don't really want to play the game until I know that this won't happen

Ihave had ONE game in 1.291 where it DID clear the shroud(and Ihave NO idea HOW it triggered the clear as I had done similar things in previous games where it did not clear), BUT I also played another game where it did NOT, so still no definite fix or even an idea where and why it does/does not clear.

I hate making this suggestion in this forum, but it helped me immensely with the Wildlands problems.

Go into the game files and edit Wildlands.xml - Comment out any of the Wildlands you don't like

Then go to the CoreStamps folder and remove the XMLs starting with "S" and "W" for the Wildlands you don't like (they are named appropriately)

OF course, make backups somewhere else on your computer if you want to feel safe

This will make sure that random maps only have the wildlands you like. Personally, I never play with master quest on so it's gone, along with Asag (doesn't work) and several other of the less interesting ones. Make me much happier playing the game with Wildlands I both enjoy and that work.

dangerlinto, that is a fair comment, BUT it will not help the developers DEBUG the wildlands that are giving issues, and I have cleared asag by visiting each of the spawn/item sites in the wildland without killing the boss.
