[1.01][GRIPE]Town upgrade window too restrictive

Basically, it obscures your view and locks you out of the game unless you decide which path you want to upgrade.

I find it very inconsistent with the rest of the game, where you can decide when you want to make your decisions. I would like to evaluate the geo-political situation first, is this a border town, or some lush farmland in the center in my empire? The game does not present this opportunity.

Overall, the UI of the game is not very consistent, with this being one of the biggest annoyances for me.

I totally agree. There should be a "view city" option at least, or the screen should center on that city.

You can move the camera still with the arrow keys. I use that to view the world around even with the big pop-up infront of me. Not ideal, but it's what I do to subvert this problem.

definitely agreed, this is annoying. we should have some option to at least defer the choice for the moment while we look around. perhaps even to delay it indefinitely if you simply don't want the town to evolve for some reason, or if you want to keep it adaptable until you see where your frontline ends up in a war.

You can see these by hovering over Food and Production, not sure where essence is but fairly sure you can check it via the level screen. My biggest problem is how intrusive it is, and that I can't see what I've already built in the city (Without judging off the tiles).

Edit: I mean in a list form, 'at-a-glance' type thing. Pretty sure you could get a gist by hovering over important stats.

Thanks for the tip. City location is also important when choosing a specialization so this will come in handy.
