Same here. Either greatly reduce the italic effect, change the font, or get rid of it completely. I'm sure the goal was to make it look more similar to hand writing, but instead it's just hard to read.

(I just italicized my thoughts above to emphasize my point)

Overall the fonts are wonderful. Note: I never thought I'd ever make that statement about a strategy game in my life. Stardock, you're amazing.

I found the new tactical display font pleasant. It is quite legible despite being italic.

On the other hand, the opening lore book font is unreadable. Furthermore, in the first 30 seconds of starting a game I was bombarded with at least four very distinct font styles (lore book, empire founding narrative, spell book, hud ui). It definitely had a "USE ALL THE FONTS!!" feel to it.

Would be good to see the fonts unified somewhat, especially now that the awesome fancy serif font is properly kerned and very readable at smaller sizes.

[edit: To clarify, I think the new font rendering looks great and really adds polish to the ui. Now just find a typography geek to bash those styles into shape ]

I'd also like to see italics gone.  The new fonts are great in general. 

That said, on my HDTV at home, the new fonts make + and - look REALLY similar.  I think it's a side effect of the resolution and anti-aliasing.  Very minor, and probably quite rare.
