I guess I don't understand why there is such resistance to this idea. It's not something I would use (in fact, I'd love to see the opposite, a complete "hardcore" version that didn't allow for any reloading), but some people might enjoy the game more if the ability to instantly replay a bad battle was available to them.
I mean, if this is included on the easiest level, or is a settable option, I don't see where the harm is. Sure, I would vote that it isn't on by default or part of "normal" or whatever, but honestly some people might be looking for a more casual experience.
Some people do use cheat codes and still enjoy the experience. I don't claim to understand it, but it's true.
I absolutely agree with your idea to also have a complete "hardcore" version with no reloading.
I love being able to play a game in all different sorts of ways. When I'm a newb, or when I want to experiment with different ideas, a redo button would be great. When I want a real challenge, then hardcore "no save" mode would be awesome as well.
I find it hilarious that some people are getting upset because some guy in another state may be playing the game differently than them
