INPUT QUESTION #1: Default Video Color Settings

Every monitor is different.  Therefore, how the game looks will depend on your monitor. We have tried to come up with a default that looks good on the most monitors but we would like to see what the consensus is with tens of thousands of beta testers.

Therefore:

Go to options

Click on the Video tab

There are 3 settings:

  1. Ambient LIght
  2. Brightness
  3. Contrast

Adjust them to the point that you are most satisfied with them. Post your results along with any comments on why you like that setting.

Well I'm in the minority here with a LED TV (I have fine tuned it too just have to mess with the greens a little more ie Sots 2 green colors are not bad but I know they look a little different). I prefer Ambient Light 3-5 (I think I like 5 the most), brightness 48-50, and contrast 50-55 (any higher too dark any lower too grey).

1. I don't understand what this changes, I see no difference.

2. 48-53

3. 50 seems perfect

After playing around a bit with the settings I'm curently at

Ambient light: 5

Brightness: 50

Contrast: 53

Hey Brad/Stardock, stick your question posts for the beta, its will only get harder to track these down once more beta testers join. I'm trying to hunt down the post on build camera preference right now...

ambient light: 5 (changing doesn't have much of an impact on my setup)

Brightness: 50

Contrast : 50

 

Even small increments with brightness and contrast seem to have a substantial impact but the 50 / 50 setting is spot on. My monitor is a 46 inch  LED TV
