Nope, it was the 3D version. I've been trying to play on a secondary laptop, but so far I've never managed even 20 turns due to various crashes.
Curiously, though, the laptop that has far older hardware than my main computer is running the game a lot more fluently. With my high-end tabletop PC, the game feels like trying to run in water. So it's either stability or performance for me...
